In general, how's the weather right now? Drier than last year? I may be coming in a month or so, although I don't usually come until November, when the rainy season is over. Not that I mind a little rain, I'd just rather avoid big floods.

We had a pretty serious downpour tonight around 3 am..started a bit of fast flooding, but then let up.

It was 51 weeks ago that Pattaya was inundated and many of the bars and gogos on Walking Street were flooded. I'm hoping we don't have a repeat this year.

Thanks for the update. I guess I'll come if I can, regardless of the weather. When I find a place to stay, it'll be off the ground floor.

We have had fewer serious downpours this year than I am used to seeing.

And overall I would say less rain. I am aware of this as I need to water a sizeable garden and pay the resulting water bill.

That said, there was a lightening flash yesterday at about 6pm that nearly made me stain my pants!

You know, it's coincidental that you asked yesterday.

Late last night there was a major downpour that has turned into a long drizzle. The sky all day has been dark and grey.

I don't recall any rains of that duration this calendar year.

It looks like the start of the rainy season.

Started at 9.30 where I am moderately heavy, and slackened off to a light rain quickly that has persisted down since.

A bit inconvenient but it is nice and cool out.

There were a lot of people complaining on FB about being stranded this morning from about 3:30am.

FLB had an overflow from the roof of the building next door that ran into our roofing and into the bar.

From the times I looked, it was raining pretty much all morning and early afternoon, though my observations were intermittent due to having to sleep.

I think it stopped last night here about 7pm and started up again later, I recall having to persuade the cat to bugger off out. Not sure if we got anything heavy during the night...but I must admit to being woken up at about 3.30am. Other than restricting me I quite like it... cool and no need to water anything. Not good for business I suppose though.

It has stopped here, and loads of dragonflys are flitting about.

Quite pleasant.

If we dine on the terrace tonight near sunset we risk being swarmed by the flying termites and the gheckos will be gorging themselves under my lights.

Other than last night's downpour which I luckily missed the weather has been pretty good since I got here on Aug. 14th.

Temperature wise it has been very pleasant for me especially during the evening when I am outside the most.

I can only think of one night in that time span where the humidity was noticeable.
