Internet connection at Sandy Springs?

Recommended Posts

I have read lot on Sandy and am going to book for 9 days there. I have not seen any info on internet connections in the room?  They say they do...but I have been to others that say it...but when you go it is a differant story.  I am looking at the deluxe room, anybody bring a lap top and use it in a room?  Will a laptop fit in the safe at the desk? Are any rooms better than others?  Any floor not to be on?  Thanks guys

They say they have internet connection but they don't in the rooms.  They have the typical Pattaya bullshit that you have to go through their operator to make an outgoing call.....I've never figured out how you set up a modem or hook to an ISP doing that.  I didn't ask about anything in the lobby and I didn't see anything there.

The safe is at the front desk and it won't hold a laptop.  I had my laptop with me and left it in the room inside my carry on bag and there was no problem.

The 8th floor is great.  I had a suite overlooking Pattaya Bay.  Great balcony.  I would think any floor from from 5 up with the same view would be excellent.

You can make call without operator assistance from your room.  I was able to connect to my work via a bangkok number as I need to hook into the work network so any other ISP is usless to me.  I did have trouble but eventually figured out I was using 9 then " for a pause and and I think it was 9 then' or -  or , shit I can't remember now but reception knew the right way.

I didn't use it but from what I gathered you can sign up for a local ISP immediatly and dial in via the local ISP in Pattaya, or something like that.   I'm not 100% sure but the did seem to have something you could sign-up for.  I think whatever it is will only be max 56K connection.  Cheers

I stayed at Sandy Spring last fall and was able to connect my laptop to internet using dial up with little problem.  I used AOL and asked at the desk to make sure I was using a local number when I dialed in.  Much better than some other hotels who limit time for local calls.
