The script isn't the issue when mailing from an international address into the US; rather the problem is the FDA and USPS require that the exporter be licensed to mail the product. That extends to individuals.

 

Yeah, I imagine plenty of people do it any way, but then there are plenty who also fail to notify the Treasury Department that they have foreign bank accounts. The penalties are severe for either non-compliance if they decide to prosecute you as an example.

The FDA would frown on it. Legally, you have to have a license to mail prescription drugs to/from the US even if the country of origin does not treat them as prescription medication ... and I suspect something like Plavix may require a prescription in Thailand even if plenty of places pass it out like cough drops.

 

Actually, you don't for 90 days supply TO the US. That's allowed as long as they are not controlled substances. And the FDA would have nothing to do with a non US pharmacy mailing things to the US within this permitted limit hence how the Canadian online pharmacies work. They don't mail anything to people in Canada.

I get my supplies of heart medications at Fascino's. They are on Pattaya Tai by the school and Pattaya Nua, where their larger pharmacy is. I don't look for discounts on them. One pill I take daily (plavix) is 125 baht each. Ouch.

The staff arent very good and try to sell u different vthan u asked for,but good stocks and reasonable prices.Only been twice,one for heart burn tablets and one for Enos but know quite a few who use them regualr.

To one and all who gave me suggestions here....Thank you. I have gone to all the places mentioned here and found the service friendly and fast . the prices are excellent and I find the quality the same as anywhere else. The only pharmacy I had any problem was the one on the northeast corner of second and central road. The pharmacist seemed offended that I asked for Cali's and pointed rather indignantly to a sign that said prescription required.

 

Now to piggyback on another thread, about tipping and this is generally about health care.... The dentist on the 4th floor of central plaza has a tip jar on the receptionists desk. I am a very liberal tipper but that is going way too far.

 

I am almost finished with business here and am about to start my real holiday. To whomever in a thread discussion that I offered to drink a beer with.... The time is here or I win the argument.

Yeah, I have seen them in various places from temples to out front at massage places.

My dentist I recall....a mouth full of cotton wool, drooling at the corner and feeling somewhat vexed by the bill I could have chucked it to Sukhumvit!

in the lucky country Plavix is A$36 per month if you have a prescription and if a pensioner A$6 per month.

 

About 1000B and 180 baht respectively.
