Buying tickets for Bkk-Lhr return

Need to book a return ticket for bkk-london-bkk but from the uk, most agencies are quoting silly prices 2k and up, can get 1100 online but just wondered whether anyone had used cheaptickets.co.th to buy from or had any other recommendations.

 

As an aside still dont understand why this route is twice as expensive than the other way round unless its thai government taxes!!

I've used cheaptickets.com without any problems using a UK Debit Card. Budgetair.com is the same company and shows prices in UKP. Qatar and Etihad both currently have sales on - you can book directly on their websites.

It's not twice as expensive from BKK, it's half-price from UK. It's to offset the hurt and humiliation the Brits go through when paying 200 Baht admission fee at some dubious Thai tourist attraction.

print a quote from any online site, and then go to Flightcentre. They guarantee to beat it. Just means they knock £1 off, but at least you're dealing with a reputable, easy access firm.

They'll simply point you to the T&Cs.

Set your location to Thailand (English) on the airline web-pages.

You don't mention it, but I suspect you are buying a ticket in someone else's name. That might be the issue, or the need to show the credit card at check-in. Try approaching the airline offices in the UK........

(You aren't comfortable sending someone the money to buy their own ticket......)

 

 

Thai taxes are substantially less than UK ones.

Wasn't worried about sending the moey just wanted to be 100% certain our itinierarys matched up, in the end i sent her my booking ref and the office in KK booked her flights to match and for the same cost as i was being quoted online so it has all worked out in the end. Will be wheels up soon thank buddha
