I stayed in VT 6 last summer, rented through Honey's Coffee shop. She had a special deal for one condo for 15,000 baht a month plus utilities. I did not elect to pay extra for cleaning services but she did offer them. All of the other condo's she had on offer were around 20,000 - 30,000 baht a month. I forget what she charged per unit for water and electric but electric was less than the 7 baht per unit most places charge. Think I paid around 2,000 baht in utilities a month. VT 6 seems to have grown in popularity and I think prices maybe higher this summer for a rental.

If you go to the ground floor of VT 6 there are several companies that rent condos within the building.

Service through Honey was great, she was quick to respond to any issues and she was very fair in regards to deposits and fees. I would rent from her again.

VT 6 was great. Liked the location and the room was great. Only one complaint is that most floors had construction due to people remodeling their units. Construction was allowed Mon - Fri from (I think) 9 am to 5 pm. It was impossible for me to sleep in during those hours from the noise. If you are not a late sleeper I highly recommend the place.

Stayed in 2A for three months and will be going back in September. I was a bit more upmarket but Dancewatcher's budget condos http://dancewatchers.com/Budget_rooms_for_rent_View_Talay_2A.html might be a starting point. There are a few units on the 1st/ground floor that are basically flop houses--not sure what they go for.

I lived in VT 2A in 2008-09 in a large 1 B/R on the 14th floor.I had a year lease and I paid 18k baht IIRC.But I agree with the downside of the remodeling noise. It carries at least 2 floors and if you are near it like you said, you won't be sleeping during those hours.1 floor down and several condos over,it went on for 4 solid weeks.

I lived in VT 6 for 2 years, on the top floor. When I moved in the building had less then 10% occupancy, I usually had the pool to myself. My unit was beautifully furnished with soft leather sofa and chairs, had a 50 inch flat screen with a second TV on the balcony, and a sophisticated multicolored lighting system. The furnishings were all brand new.

Short term rentals filled up the building and ruined the ambiance, IMHO. You really don't want transients around where you live. My landlord raised the rent to 30,000, quite a lot for a studio with a long-term lease, and I was ready for a change, but I really enjoyed living there, and shagged many a bar girl. Strictly a no-starfish zone, here's a sample from the first few months:

I've heard complaints about fairproperties.com. What was your experience? Your security deposit was returned?

Never a problem, all was returned and I would do business with them again

2 is not as handy as 6, do we agree with that?

Handy for what? Pattaya?

It's certainly closer to the action in Jomtien, such as it is.

Yes, that is true. It is on the baht bus main route but it's not like staying at the RG where you can walk to WS if the spirit moves you. Not too bad when you get away from high season. Peak season, you need to be patient.

Sorry, yes I am a Pattaya man.

Is 6 always more expensive than 2, due to it's location..

I do like the idea of being next door to Cetral.

VT6 is a much newer building, but you can get lower rates for the units facing north since the view is obstructed by the Hilton. It's certainly convienient just to go next door for dinner and shopping, not to mention all the freelancers available on Beach Road. About a 15 minute hike to Walking Street, even less to Soi Lk Metro.

Dancewatcher's really high prices IMO worth the value... many of my friends lived in their condos and I witnessed the best quality of everything in the condos. The services they offer also not cheap, but also quality with a sense... And what is more important, they are absolute correct and fair...( not like some other agencies in the building, may cancel your room a few days before your arrival, if they found a better deal... ) My mates wanted to rent a 60.000/month condo for a month.... no chances, because it was already rented out for 2 ( TWO ) days in advance in the mentioned period...

The few units on the first floor with window walls and a courtain looking on the corridor is for those, who think they will find a condo upon their arrival... and no, they don't... In the high season 1000/day, in the low season 600/day... ( incl the electricity )
