The Mayor of Davao had a go at them yesterday as well. Apparently they wouldnt let 911 emergency personnel attend the scene, kept the passengers isolated on the runway.

Deploying those slides is expensive. I'm not surprised they waited 'till the last possible second.

That was what I was thinking. Certainly once there was smoke.
