They'll probably think you're Thai at first. That's not a problem if you answer them back in English.

Many gogos don't let Thai males into the Gogo, but if you're able to say you're American, they'll be fine. They've seen it all before and generally understand America has many ethnic groups.

You'll do fine. Have a good time!

I've never had a problem... don't worry too much. Depending on your Asian ethnicity, you might do better with some types of girls, worse with others. I've never (that I can recall) been barred from entering any establishment... :)

You should not have any issues in the slightest.

Perhaps you will be stopped at a GGB door as they have to keep the jealous Thai boyfriends out but I think you will be quickly recognised ar a USA guy and hence welcomed.

There can be added fun, my Oz pal of Malaysian origin thought it was great fun to go and stand near to the hookers on beach rd and disturb them as they thought he was a Thai cop.

The biggest problem my Korean-American friend had was being treated like an Asian (S. Korean/Japanese/Chinese) tourist.

Some very inflated asking prices, being asked to pay for certain things up front, etc. All while I was sitting next to him and getting different treatment. Sometimes it got sorted out easily, other times we ended up just moving on. Showing a copy of his US passport at bars had mixed results.

He also meet some other Koreans on a package tour and we were astounded at the inflated prices they were paying for everything. We adopted them a couple of nights and had good fun.

Example: They paid 4000baht each for "gogo bar tour packages" that included loading up with several other Korean men from the same tour group and visiting 4-5 gogo bars and maybe a ping pong show or some such crap. They got a "free" hired baht bus back and forth from Walking St. to their hotel, "free" entry into the bars and a "free" drink in each spot.

Best advise would be to drop by the FLB first and see if any board members are about who can show you the ropes.
