Paradise Agogo Reopens tomorrow

Recommended Posts

I was in Metro Apartments (the sportsbar) and the noise from Paradise was annoying - making cabinets rattle with resonance.

If is were in Europe or the US I believe it would be illegal - I don't know about Thailand but if I were Dennis I would ask my lawyer to check the laws.

How was it?

Loud.

I made a modest assessment on the Secrets board about it because I honestly didn't understand the reason for the "upgrade" especially the whole facade, logo etc. but that's non of my business and since the responsibles refuse to talk about it, we can only guess. I still don't understand the need of a full disco sound system in a small gogo with one small stage and the DJ tower has the size of the Notre Dame, while the only toilet was clogged up by midnight and nobody bothered to use a rubber pump. Otherwise the crowd seemed to be happy, looked like a stagg party, mostly young guys, some dancing with each other, had a PA party deja vu if you're asking me. My bud Boydeste couldn't stand the deafening noise and didn't finish his drink, had to catch up with him next door. I just don't understand why these guys don't listen. And honestly not much has changed inside. The percentage of the girls to the guys was roughly 1 to 4 just by looking at it and no stunners. The star of the stage for the brief time around 23:30 was one of the girls I like from Oscars(making only one left there after the third one quoted me 3000 ST and they claim no more agency girls there). That's the other thing, get some decent girls at least for the opening night FFS. I would go back for a second look to be fair but the music is a deal breaker. In a nutshell...

The novelty has certainly worn off now. I went in there the other night and there were just three punters in the place including myself but a few decent girls were doing their thing on the stage and trying to attract attention.

I occasionally see one of their staff who previously worked in other GGBs in the area and I felt a bit embarrassed for her and her chums. It was the quietest of all the GGBs I visited in LKM on that particular night. Champagne, Destiny, The Office and Love Girls had reasonable crowds in allowing for the low season and the current political climate. I did not go anywhere else. When I commented on the lack of customers she said it was because Falangs can't smoke in there. They also shut up shop at 2 am apart from Fridays and Saturdays. The other LKM GGBs are open till 3 or 4 am.

It's none of my business but if I'd have spent the fortune it must have cost for the set up I'd allow smoking because if that was a typical night they won't last long unless the owner is loaded and regards the enterprise as an expensive hobby. Or I may have just visited on a unusually quiet night.

Pah, I was in Mistys and it had only a few customers, was that because they do allow smoking!

So I think the latter.... the whole town is going through a quiet spell.

Most guys wouldn't realise beforehand about their smoking policy.......

They used to have an attractive Happy Hour which included bottled beers, is that still the case?

I had a regular 'friend' in there and as long as I have her on my lap I think I can still enjoy myself, more-so without smokers.

Still mulling over where to go in a day or two, LK Metro or Soi 7/8..... some poor reports coming in wrt Soi LK!

Thanks for the update.

I've spent a few nights on Soi LK recently after the first football match finishes. I've enjoyed Showgirls and Amethyst for the quality of the girls in both. No bar fines, but decent possibilities when my monger friend gets around to going there.

Lady Love is good too, but with all the ex-FLB staff there, I'm rather constrained in my freedom of behavior.

Jacko. The Happy Hour at Paradise seems to have been lost in the refurbishment.

The hello staff are now brandishing a card which advertises beers from 120 baht and 150 baht ladydrinks.

I haven't been in much recently but when I have been in there have been far fewer customers than before. However, I do see a few good looking girls from there walking around the soi.

Cheers

Thanks..... my habit of old, getting 4-6 cheap quick ones in (bottles) just doesn't seem to be well supported. Beers 'from' 120 and 150 baht LDs is hardly a bargain outside of WS!

I know the old Paradise Happy Hour brought in a few like myself.......cheap!

Good news about the "no smoking" but 120b for a beer will not catch on.

Is the music still loud? Agree previous poster, that is a deal breaker!

I don't understand it, they want you to buy lady drinks, but you talk to the girl because you can hear her.
