Hanoi. The one thing that surprised me was that there were so many trees everywhere. Every road you went down had trees, and it makes for a nice site, when you compare it to LoS.

wow firth, great pics. I love military history and it's interesting to see the detritus remaining from the War. There's a lot of WW2 history in the Philippines but nothing is left "laying around" sadly.

 

I like the old architecture in the first and second pic of the first post, and the way it's been overtaken by more modern buildings. It's something we often see in large Asian cities as the expansion very often doesn't mean demolition as it does in the west.

 

Great stuff, very enjoyable and interesting.

Those first 2 photos are actually the view from my balcony. I stayed in the "old town" area, and its all very much the same as this.
