Up the creek without a paddle

Recommended Posts

Made a royal screw up and failed to book a room in time. Every place I know and have tried are fully booked.) Estiny, Flipper, Sabai etc.

Am ok up till the 6th Dec but then snookered for the 7th  - 28th Dec. Any suggestions / help would be appreciated.  What with this Boathouse place as its new and out at jomtian might stand a chance there, anyone got a contact web page / e-mail.

really do not want to hawk my body around searching for rooms each day.

Try the Areca Lodge . It's a new hotel & well located on Soi Diana but it is not too cheap . Go to the hotel reviews for a link to their website .

Thanks for the help guys.

Turbo,  I went to the reviews but the only contact e-mail I got was for a booking agency and the rates were higher than those mentioned in the reviews. My other concern was that one review said they were guest friendly whilst another said there was a 300 baht joining Fee.

I am not bothered by the slightly higher rates just want to pay the same as everyone else but I do object to any kind of joining fee I always book a double and figure thats it.

Do you have a direct e-mail address? and can anyone confirm the guest/joiner fee question?  thanks

ukdog- don't know what email address you used, but on their website at www.arecalodge.com they show an email address of info@arecalodge.com  If that is not the one you tried, give it a shot. Ask them about a joiner fee in the email....since you're booking a double I don't see them charging you extra for guests. Good luck and have a great trip.

Try the Beach View hotel on Soi 2. They always seem to have rooms, a guest friendly policy, a pool and they are reasonably clean. The only real problem is that they only have twin bedded rooms.

Regards,

Andy.

Just following up guys, contacted Erecalodge and got a reply that they had availability for the month of December. (6th - 28th)

The rate was 1450 per night for a standard double room with complete, "non-returnable", payment of 31,900 baht to be received by the 12th November. Although I have sometimes covered the first nights fee I have never been asked for complete non-returnable payment up front.

Beach view has availability but as pointed out by Andy only twin bedded rooms.

I am awaiting a reply from MarkLand re- double bedded room.

Keep you posted

All fixed up, (but TIT), Markland came across. Ultima stated there was no rooms available but contacted Markland direct and got fixed up with a double with king size bed.  90 baht more then the rate advertised by ultima plus.

Thanks to all those that helped with suggestions

They do that basically to make sure that you don't become a "no show."

Got you eltib,

Thats ok for payment for the first day or two but "31,000 baht" up front,  I do not think so! what if the place is a duffer and you want to move on.

I have never been asked for that sort of money up front and would not pay it. TIT

I am being idle,  I know that if I was willing to walk around Pattaya, even at xmas,  I could find good digs at a reasonable rate but I cannot be bothered so have to pay a few baht more. No probs, it amounts to two beers and I prefer Marklands attitude.

If your around between 06/12/02 and 28/12/02 perhaps we can sink a few, pm me
