"Bloody Poms in the Aussie Tennis Open !"

Recommended Posts

Both mens and ladies semi-finals have Brits competing. (Although there are many would say that neither are British! Not me though. ) Unheard of in modern times , best of luck to both of them, especially Johanna Konta, who is in virgin territory. :clap1: Her voice/accent absolutely resembles some tv/film or other celebrity,...Can't match it yet though! :clueless

You have to be fair though, quite a few ozzies have won at Wimbledon which is more than a Brit managed for many years.

Absolutely; and of course no Brit has won the Australian Open, since it went "open", which is why I highlighted the steps made in reaching Semis. Andy Murray could still win, but I wouldn't bank on him beating Djokovic nor his semi opponent really. Australian tennis seems to be plummeting to those depths achieved by the UK though, 40 years now since one last won the Aus. Open, and no prospects on the horizon. Much the same with the Ladies as well, with Goolagong the last success I think. Hard to understand as to why Oz tennis has fallen so much! Rod Laver was the greatest ever in the world IMHO.

Hi,

Andy lost again ! My niece is a great fan of Andy and called me to advise how much she should bet on him. :scared: I said,ZERO. Novak is a great champion and so is Andy. Just on different levels.

No question, Novak is on a way higher level than any others now. He needs to have a really "off" day for Andy Murray or anybody else to beat him nowadays.

That Wimbledon win he had just looked too easy!
