Cedar - lebanese restaurant in Central Festival

Recommended Posts

One of the reasons I enjoyed flying with the Middle East carriers was a chance to reacquaint myself with some ME food. Personally more a fan of tabouleh and hommus with the flat bread and it is supplied as a starter on Qatar/Etihad... so much do I enjoy it I rarely feel like a main course after!

I have many recollections of labneh as a breakfast when I worked in the ME.

This place looks worthy of a lunchtime visit!

Somebody recommended me the meal: Hummus with meat.

Nothing too much to write about... The lebanese bread / pita was hot, tender... a dream. The hummus was fantastic, delicious, rich with a few drop fine olive oil.... The small lamb cubes were dry and hard, but no problem, with the hummus and the soft pita it was like a spice added a special taste.

Verdict: I don’l liked at all. You may ask why ? Because it was a bad composed meal. Not a starter, not a main meal. For starter it is too much, too heavy, for a main too small, not enough. Finishing the food I felt: I’m still hungry, but can’t eat even a small sandwich, not enough hungry for that. It was like an interrupted act. Finally I bought in the Food loft 2 small grilled „ chicken on the stick” what made my stomach pleased.... A so small nuance turned the excelence to a bad order.... 210 baht + 10 baht pita. Small soda water 35 baht.

Anyway... they do something wrong....Their hummus, pita, labanee is first class... the lamb sandwich was only acceptable...( not the same leauge with the Sportman's lamb kebab... the Sportmans has the crap pita, but the meat is generous and tasty... ) their main meals are high overpriced... ( OK... less, than the 4 floor competitors with the + VAT + service fee ) but still... Anyway... the most important thing is, they are simple empty... Any time I visited I was the only one customer.... despite of the great pita, hummus and labanee for fair prices.... maybe next time I will order a few pita, hummus and labanee... and I will be really happy... IF I want a vegetarian menu...
