Did it a few years ago. The only problem I found was that it was full of Dutch people who were a little 'loud' but that was probably excitement, other than that, couldnt fault it. Food was OK.

in cattle class you are a second class citizen.its eat your food and go to sleep and shut up.but for me the main

hassle is the timeing.the flight leaves at 19:35 so

i am hanging around allday.if you have a delay you can

leave later so you arrive in bkk late afternoon, then take

a limo to pattaya and you are totally knackerd.

its not so bad if you want to stay in bkk,but you do

suffer.china air or eva maximise your time .if time

is no probleme or its better for your connexion,

in cattle class china is best but there really is not

a lot between them, its all down to the flight times

Flew KLM from GLA-AMS-BKK last November.

No problems at all, and the price was right.

This was my first and only flight with KLM, asked nicely at the gate in AMS and got upgraded to World Business Class !

On the return journey, no upgrade, but the other cabin was perfectly acceptable for me, food was OK.

Connections in AMS worked both ways, and my bags arrived at the same time as me.

I would consider KLM again if the price was competitive, and the experience of Schipol airport is much better than Heathrow, especially the smoked eel sandwich and Heineken beer that I had as a snack between flights !

Flew KLM on several occasion to USA. No problems, friendly staff, food ok etc. "Second class citizen"?? Come on!

The Time Thing: If you live in Amsterdam, Rotterdam of The Hague ("Randstad"), then the evening flight leaves you hanging around all day. But it gives you time to pack your suitcase of go to a cinema or whatever. If you, like many, don't live in the "Randstad"-area, you have to get up in the middle of the night to catch the 12.25 Eva flight (check in 2 to 3 hours before departure). Also, EVA arrives in BKK at 5.00 in the morning! You wanna be in Pattaya at 7 am?

I agree departure and arrival time of China is best of all. Also KLM is, at least in Holland, much more expensive than China or EVA.

For me, living close to German border, I fly Emirates from Dusseldorf to BKK for only 472 euro (incl. Tax) (337 pound sterling). Amsterdam Schiphol Airport or Dusseldorf is same distance, so i save at least 200 euro by flying Emirates. 1 negative thing; 4 hrs. stopover in Dubai, but i don't care about that.

:) for me klm  timings work well as you leave scotland in the afternoon, unlike china where you have to leave on the early morning flight, and thats a hassle as i have    1 1/2 hours drive to the airport.                                   have had one bad flight but was caused by weather, their buis class lounge in schpol if fine for waiting for flights, the food is typical of all airlines edible,

china beats them usually on price. and klm is usually better leaving bkk for check in less of a feeling of being treated as cattle being herded through..

klm frequent flyer programme has just won a lot of awards (freddies) never been upgraded with klm even though i am a gold card holder but have been upped  quite a few times with china.. chocdee bj :)

I started out on a Continental fight and because of problems in the system at Newark the westbound flight didn’t go. So Continental put me on a co-shared flight that was with KLM. The service was not as good as Continental’s Business First but not bad. I did pop into the back of the plane for a look and things didn’t look great in the steerage compartment.

I flew KLM Amsterdam - Bangkok this July, delayed 40 min going out and same on the return this I don't mind.

The seats were pretty crap on the outward flight and even worse on the return ( older plane ),meals no choice, eat what you are given or starve.Drinks "ie" the alcoholic type very scarce.

Marks out of 10- 3 >:( ??? :-X
