Swampy VIP Arrivals service and Bell Bus.

Recommended Posts

Having been stuck in the immigration queue at swampy for over half an hour on a previous trip my friend and I decided to try the VIP service offered by BFS.

It was worth it!

We arived around 6.00AM and the arrivals was already heaving. Just off the walkway was our man with my name up and the electric cart. We whisked through Immigration so fast it was amazing, On the cart on the way to the VIP Immigrtation it was obvious the airport was packed as the walkways were full and and on the way to the baggage reclaim could see the immigration queues backed way up.

The rudeness and ignorance at the VIP immigration counter by the two female Immigration officers had to be seen to be believed. They never ever looked at my face or acknowledged me or even stopped chatting to each other as they did the visa. The officer then threw my passport onto the counter so hard it nearly fell off, not that she cared.

But was it worth the money? YES.

Would I pay for it again? YES.

From getting off the plane to getting to the baggage reclaim was no more than 10 minutes. and even the baggage arrived quite quickly for once.

We then jumped on the Bell Bus coach down to Pattaya. Nice clean coach but with the air brake warning whistle screaming out every few minutes. Transfer to Minibus at the Bell Bus depot and that took us to the door of the hotel. No sodding about on Songthaews or anything.

Worth the 100Baht exta for door to door? Yep

It does but we got the 10 O clock bus as my wife was there getting picked up to go up to her Parents house so we had to pass on the 8 oclock bus untill I had made sure she was safely on her minibus

I went through on foot this trip using the VIP service, rather than the cart (always need to stretch my legs). I had a decent chat with the girl escorting me, she took me through the immigration and I got my bags very quickly and was out of the door within 25 minutes of getting out of the aircraft. The girl also stayed with me while I got a new SIM card at the stand and up until I found my Taxi driver.

It really does take a chunk of hassle out of the arrivals process and it is a very slick and professional service indeed. In this case it meant the difference between leaving SVB airport and hitting the start of the rush hour which probably saved me a fair bit of time getting to my hotel as well. Ironically SVB airport to pattaya is the same distance as my house is from LHR. It took me over 6 hours to get to LHR on the Friday I left due to a flooded M25, so I went Southbound and it was a fucking nightmare. It took an hour and 40 to get to Pattaya.

It was also all paid for and gifted to me by a BM who shall remain nameless, but I owe him a big chunk of gratitude.

We always go down to Heathrow the day before the flight and get a Hotel and Long stay Car parking package. The T2 Long stay park is great and you keep your own keys. busess every 15 mins or so to and from the airport.

I think we paid something like £127 for the 16 days parking and overnight at the Leonardo Hotel

GP that's not a bad deal at all. A couple of years ago we took the Malaysian daytime flight to KL and I ended up paying £70 for a night plus another £90 for parking (but it was 3 weeks - still probably more than what it would cost at T2).

I'll google Leonardo hotel for future reference!. Cheers.
