Pemium economy trans-Pacific

I'm familiar with Eva Air's Elite Class/Premium Economy seating. That may suit my purpose and its a not unreasonable amount higher than an economy seat.

 

Anyone know of another airline with equivalent seating on trans-Pacific routes?

I was under the impression that many of the airlines are getting into the "Premium Economy" game. The only ones I've ever taken were on the Thai Air non-stop flights from JFK and LAX to BKK. Both flights are now discontinued. Anyway, those were good seats, and the prices weren't too bad, considering. I think the R/T tickets were around $1800.

Cathay Pacific, my flight was out of ORD to Hong Kong to BKK. I thought that it was nice but not worth the extra cost, I did feel special though. The extra cost was around sixteen hundred but that is both ways over the Pacific and from Hong Kong to Bkk; the first leg on return is second class.

If you can go out of Dallas 2nd airport there are some great value flights on a Chinese airline if you're planning ahead far enough. The second airport is an eleven mile taxi ride from the Dallas-Fort Worth airport; maybe called Bush International? It is six months since I saw the flights, should have taken them they were business class for eighteen hundred dollars but I was a bit unfamiliar with getting from one airport to another in Dallas. Next year I'll be a big boy and go for it.

I never flew EVA so cannot compare CX to them but CX is a excellent airline.

United has an "Economy Plus" class, but that's not the same thing as Premium Economy on other airlines. Most of the airlines which offer Premium Economy have more comfortable recliner seats, but UA just adds extra legroom to standard economy seats. I believe EVA offers better food in PE, but you get the same meal on UA as in Economy. The seat pitch on UA Economy Plus on trans-Pacific flights is 37" vs 38" on Eva, while the seat width on UA is 18.5 vs 19.5 on EVA.

 

However, UA trans-Pacific flights have wifi (for an extra fee) and better seat-back inflight entertainment than EVA. UA Economy Plus is also cheaper than Premium Economy on EVA.
