Sending documents to Thai girl in Pattaya

Recommended Posts

I want to send some documents to a thai lady in Pattaya. Her room does not seem to have any post delivery, which means I have no address to write on the envelope.

Is it possible to send it "poste restante" to a post office or to a FedEx/DHL office and she go there to pick it up?

When arranging stuff for a friend, I told him to make friends with his regular hotel, pass them a few baht and send all mail there. Worked for him.

You can send to a Courier company to collect, but make sure it is marked in large letters TO BE COLLECTED BY and the girl name

I'm almost sure that's possible. Both companies have web sites. I'd double check with the companies, just to make sure.

There is a pick up option from the Post Office on Soi 13/2 (Next to Yamato) but I have no idea how to arrange it, and DHL do offer a "pick up" option from their offices (or at least have done in past years, but I have not used them in ages) which you will have to coordinate with the office from which you send it from.

Basically you instruct them of the recipients details, send the package and they contact the consignee when it is available for collection. DHL can also deliver to premises without regular postal collection as well. Again , coordinate this with the local office.

DHL while not the cheapest have never failed in delivery schedules, and I have used them several times. If the Documents are important , in the UK at least I would pay the premium and send via DHL as they track everything which you can follow on their website, plus they have a very good customer support network.

Send PDF files with instructions to print there and if they are to be signed and returned, she can do it using DHL or FedEx.

Unfortunately it is the opposite way: My signed originals are needed in Thailand.

DHL. Speak to your local depot in your location, they have an office in Pattaya. For the sake of $25 over registered which is probably a few beers and a takeaway Pizza, it really does offer more peace of mind.

  • 3 weeks later...

I tried registered mail (EMS) and it worked! I paid 16 euros online and sent the envelope "poste restante" to the post office on Soi 13/2.

I could track the mail on Thailand Post's web site and after 10 days the Thai girl could pick it up. She had to show ID and pay 2 baht to get it.
