Thai Airways will start daily direct flights from Amsterdam on July 1st.Direct competition with KLM who do daily flights.EVA fly three times a week.Live in hope that flights will get a bit cheaper, not really expecting € 600 again but you never know.

It would seen  the airlines are expecting some good business to Bangkok this year..... I am looking forward to a review of Norse which is probably the only cheap option not going via China.

The KLM and EVA flights are always full whenever I fly, that's in the high season.Dont know how busy it is to bangkok during the European summer. Competition is always good .I flew Etihad last November 30.€650 paid an extra €90 for  aisle seats.

I have just looked at the flights on the Thai airways app, they started daily flights from Amsterdam 1st July. The cheapest for next February was €1100 that's about the same as KLM and €130 more than EVA.The KLM price is no checked bag only carry on and pay extra for seat selection.EVA is with two checked bags and pay extra for seat selection. The Thai flight is with one checked bag and with seat selection including forward seats! I only have carry on but I want an aisle seat so that probably makes the Thai flight the cheapest option.EVA is better sevice than KLM in cattle class but Thai may be better than EVA?.My experience is that KLM are punctual but EVA are terrible always leave late and arrive late. The down side is that Thai arrive 06:05 and the return flight leaves at 05:00.KLM have two flights a day one arrives 07:05 the other that's the best at 10:00. KLM and EVA return flight are both leave around midday. These are all direct flights.

My recent LHA to BKK with EVA left on time and was a record 10.50 hours! Pretty good service but I would rate Thai slightly better.

Didn't pay to choose a seat and had 3 allocated to us next to each other.

2 x 23kg bags each way.

Thai is 1 x 23kg but give 30kg on the return. They must know my Mrs and her shopping habits!

Booked in November and paid £630 each.

If Thai is roughly the same price as EVA i will book Thai but in November they were about £200 each ticket more.

I'm waiting to see if the prices change now that there's some competition on the Amsterdam-Bangkok rout. The Thai app is rubbish,I registered in February got a royal orchid pass in my google wallet.it tells me to change my pass word but won't let it happen, put in my first and middle name,it tells me my first and middle name must not contain a number! and so on.Try and input the membership number and nothing happens.Does my head in.

I'd remove and reinstall the app; that shouldn't disturb the data in the wallet.  Also try changing the password on another device; maybe before reinstalling the app on your phone.

Based on general computer nerd experience, not specific experience with the Thai app.
