Hi I am coming back to Pattaya in Sept and am looking for somewhere decent to stay without paying an arm and a leg.

I have checked out the profile for the Residence Garden and it looks good, however, the profile for the Yensabai Condo's looks pretty good as well and they are 700 baht cheaper.

They are both about the same distance from Walking St and both have pools.

Was wondering if anybody has been to both, or to the Yensabai. Have heard from a couple of people that the Residence is pretty nice. Would appreciate any feedback in relation to which is going to be the best to stay at.

Look forward to your reply's.

I stayed at the Yensabai Condo twice. I like the room very large studio with a sitting area with a couch and two chairs. Good AC, TV and fridge. In room safe. Swimming pool which I never used but looked nice.

What I didn't like was the walk to Second Road. During the day I was in the sun both ways. They are currently running a special 499 per day.

No joiner fees and they will check ID if you want them to. Around the corner is two laundries and a couple of resturants. I would stay there again. www.pattayarentaroom.com

Many thanks once again for the input. As a total newbie I look forward to any advice I am able to get from you long timers.

It is great to pick the jewels out what everybody is saying in the various forum areas.

Have sent a mail off to them to see what they can offer me.

Stayed there 18 months ago. It's OK, but a hike to the bahtbus route. The hike is through the gay area, it's not a problem, just smile and wave no (assuming that you're not at home there :D ), but you'll get the gay equivalent of "handsum man" every time you pass, they don't get the idea that you're not interested.

Ok that is nice to know. I don't fly that way, but it does not stress me out either.

Will treat them with the respect that everybody deserves, give them a big smile a wave and continue on my way. :D

potterces,

I’ve stayed there the last 2 trips. I think it is a great value. I agree with BigD; Rudi or Andy at Pattayarentaroom.com should be able get you a studio with large refrigerator, microwave, hotplate, electronic safe and TV with VCD player for about 600 baht / night. The 1 bedroom apts. should run about 900 – 1000 baht / night.

A few words about the neighborhood and transportation. I’ve found that if you walk straight out the gate past the first Soi and turn left on the second Soi it is a very short walk of about 3 to 5 minutes to the Hollywood nightclub (hopefully fully restored after a fire I read about as while back). From Hollywood it is about another ½ block to Pattaya South road and the baht bus. This route bypasses the area bars mentioned above. Motorbike taxis are available at the front gate, I usually take them to and from walking street. The charge was 20 baht in February.

Cons: Weekly maid service although you can request additional service at a nominal fee (I think 150 baht but I’m not sure). Sometimes the water pressure is on the low side. One thing to remember is that these are condos and you will have to go to one of the local markets to buy drinking water (very inexpensive) toilet paper and dish soap if you plan on cooking.

Family Mart is located on Soi 17 as you walk toward the condo. Outside the condo is laundry service and small bars.

If that is your price range, try the Welcome Plaza Hotel. It's been 650 baht per night for the last 4 years. I always just walk up and get that rate. Its been my hotel of choice for the last 9 trips. Excellent location(2nd rd. across from soi pattayaland 2), a great rate, and a good pool. Best value for the money.

Have booked into the Yen Sabai for 580 per night. Pretty good deal I thought. All the advice on what is close and where to look for stuff has been greatly appreciated.
