The restaurant at the Gulf Siam Hotel on Pattaya North Road just west of the intersection with 3rd Road has an interesting sign, at least for steak lovers: Who can resist a ฿89 steak? I can't, but I was sure it wouldn't be anything like the pic. The restaurant itself carries a rather curious name, Gulf Sixty-Eighty, but is also known as the Gulf Cafe & Coffee Shop. Gulf Sixty-Eighty plays up the steak angle pretty heavily, but also pushes its breakfast buffet and cocktail promotion. Inside, it's quite comfortable and attractive.

I like Whitehouse Condotel on Soi 13, next to the Dynasty and within spitting distance of The Sportsman. Whitehouse has a good breakfast and it often comes in on Agoda at about the price of the Dynasty.

For international trips, only had one missed connection out a couple decades of travel. Thought I was safe with an 1.5 hour layover in ICN, but a very strong headwind ate up most that time. This is where the extra cost of a BC ticket pays dividends. On exiting the plane there was a very long list of passengers that were directed to a desk to handle reticketing, and a much shorter list where there was a gate agent handing out pre-printed cards that when presented at the gate would get you a boarding pass.
