  1. I've just booked for 3 nights at Sabai Inn across road for 700 baht a night, with use of pool at Sabai Lodge as part of same group, never stayed there before but good reviews.I can add more nights after I arrive if I like the place-if not I can check out other places.
  2. Have just booked Mr Toom for my trip from Bangkok airport to Pattaya on 21st May,he replied to my email within a couple of hours. Now all I have to do is sort out my accommodation!
  3. I've never stayed there but my friend always stays there and will be there again end of May.If you like the location it is fine,I believe pool area has been renovated, plenty of bars and places to eat nearby. Also now has ATM in car park so very handy and room rates seem to have stayed steady over the years, and painted yellow you could even find it when blind drunk!!
  4. Thanks for the info lads,I will probably book a couple of nights somewhere and then check a few places out-the walk up offer of pay 5 stay 7 sounds good value-I had that offer at Flipper House last year but not on offer this time, same offer on at Flipper Lodge.
  5. The flight back on 7th May is still 21.00-could you maybe ask them to put your return flight back a day at no extra charge,if it suited you of course-anyway best of luck.
  6. Have just checked further and it would appear amended return time applies to flights Bangkok/Abu Dhabi up to 4th June,so I presume your flight is within this date band-really bad luck,I hope there are no more changes, would have to leave Pattaya 4 in the morning as well to get to Bangkok airport.
  7. That sucks! What date is your flight from Bangkok? I am returning 13th June and have just checked on Etihad,Airline Network and Lastminute sites and all still showing 21.00 departure from Bangkok?
  8. I have just had an email back from them-they will charge 300 baht for a guest, and this is confirmed on website,so although place looks nice,no way would I pay that in Pattaya-it's taking the piss.
  9. Thanks for feedback-not sure if I like the sound of the overbooking but I think I could be tempted to be paid to spend a night in Bangkok-no mad hurry to get back to UK!!
  10. Am thinking of maybe looking to stay there for a week or two next month-either that or Flipper Lodge-both on Soi 8. Have a good idea what Flipper Lodge is like but not seen too many reviews of Sunshine Residences. Both places have special offers on so may even stay at both, but would like to hear from anyone who has stayed at Sunshine Residences. What is the accommodation and pool area like-I do not want to stay in the older part of the hotel.Cheers.
  11. Just what we need-another new hotel! Eastiny seem to be trying to take over the place as they have opened a new one on Soi 7 also. A hotel right in the middle of Soi 8 will stick out like a sore thumb-I wouldn't fancy staying there-imagine the racket from all the surrounding bars!!
  12. I stayed at Flipper House last May for 3 weeks, couldn't fault it for location, room in new wing fine-shower only.Rooftop swimming pool excellent, would have rebooked next month but special offer not available this time so will probably book into Flipper Lodge this time as facilities/location similar. Would definitely avoid barfining girls from the Soi you are staying in as can get very awkward after a couple of weeks!
  13. anyone been on the new schedule which started end of March- I'm using it next month along with plenty of other members as £100 cheaper than anyone else. How was the plane/service/connecting times/punctuality/check in? Any feedback welcome.Cheers.
  14. The place looks really nice on the website and the rooms are very well appointed so even though a little over my budget,I might look to stay there for a week when I am over in May,look forward to a review of the place-not sure if it has a pool, let me know, although could always use the Lek one if not. Also policy re bringing back TG's guest fee wise, although unlikely to be any. Breakfast is included in rate, any good at restaurant?
  15. Anybody know if Eastiny Inn has a pool,I was there last year when they were building it,certainly a good location opposite Pig and Whistle and just down from Flipper House where I stayed last May. No pictures or details as yet on Eastiny website-am due over there in 5 weeks and still reviewing accomodation options.
  16. I found them o.k. with good connections from U.K. via Amsterdam, decent legroom as I am 6ft and good service. However, did once put in an unscheduled stop on the way back at Abu Dhabi which made it a really long flight and caused missed connections. They always used to be one of the cheaper options but there are now better options for similar prices so not used them for some years.Going on Etihad next month from Manchester.
  17. I actually found out from a friend who is going on 22nd May with Trailfinders and was notified by them, and Etihad website seems to confirm this. I booked with Airline Network and they have notified me that plane now arrives Manchester 05.45 not 06.45,but as Etihad site still shows 06.45,God knows and not really bothered. Have already got my flight tickets with the original times! Have a good trip!
  18. no reviews on this site for it-have been past it plenty of times as it is on Second road across from Soi 10. Always looked like a tour group kind of place-don't mind that so long as it is guest friendly with no extra charge. Anybody stayed there and can review re above-cheers.
  19. when are you staying at Sabai Inn? I have been past it many times, looks nice from outside and foyer etc looks smart. No problem going over road to use pool.It is good location although usually stay more central/south. However as my friend will be staying at Charming Inn on Soi 3 at the same time,I could look to stay a week at Sabai Inn and then move down to my usual neck of the woods. 700 baht sounds fine so will definitely consider it.Cheers!
  20. tried again with Flipper house but still saying offer not available due to renovation! will email back mentioning special offer given to friend in June and see what they say, will ask if offer available at Flipper Lodge. Think best thing to do is just book in for 2 or 3 nights and check other places out when there, always plenty accomodation available in May/June and you can take a look at the place and rooms in person before booking. Thanks for advice etc.
  21. what rate did flipper house give you-quoted me 880 baht, less than official rate but more than last year of 707 baht on special offer.I may email them again, sometimes you get a different response on a different day-that's Pattaya!
  22. the reason i would look for other options is because of the difference over 3 weeks between 990baht a night and 700baht is somethimg to consider. I remember the Queens hotel from last year as went past it many times-it looked o.k. from the outside and in good location for all the bars. I also remember it had special offer advertised, poss 600 baht mentioned. Obviously would only stay somewhere where no charge for lady guest.Cheers.
  23. was intending to catch 09.00 bus from terminal 1 to pattaya as my flight arrives 07.20 but have heard that this may not run anymore, although various websites still mention it. Anyone have any updates, cheers.
  24. mmm,bus service is still advertised on all websites, will have to check it out.
  25. Going over for 4 weeks on 20th May,last year stayed at Flipper House on Soi 7 as they had great deal of stay 14 pay 10 so only cost 707 baht a night Just got email back saying they are not having the deal this year so am looking at other options. Used to stay every year at the Lek but prices have gone up since rebuilding. I would never pay more than 1000 baht a night. I know there are plenty of places around 600/700 baht but I do like a swimming pool so that limits options. I may book the first week at Flipper House or Areca Lodge and then check out options when I get over there. Any sugge
