  1. Sunday morning rates, looks like Fridays Sterling improvement has filtered through, partially! Yenjit, next to Megabreak Pool on Soi Diana. TT Exchange, Soi Buakhao opposite Soi Excite. Not much between them!
  2. Except when you are trying to check in behind someone who has exceeded the hand baggage weight limit or number of items. I still have a sour taste in my mouth from many years ago when I made a booking via something like Expedia, for a budget carrier, and arrived with check-in baggage, but my ticket did not include it... I was inexperineced with budget carriers then.
  3. The Break Up
  4. Yes it had a chemical taste, but the alcohol content had a hit too, old Singha, served in the big bottles, soon had you spinning. Unless that is a side effect of formaldahyde....
  5. Hacksaw Ridge (2016)
  6. Same one, couldn't see any mention of it being associated with Yenjit and hence would walk by. The website seems short on English where location is concerned, although I knew of the two you mention, and have used them. Both been around a long time and out of the way. I got a poor rate from them once on Singapore dollars and stayed away after. I will try and get a picture of their rates and a nearby TT when I can.
  7. I remember Kingfisher beer there, tasted like homebrew and gave quite a headache, likely high alcohol content to stop it spoiling in the heat. Like the early Singha in Thailand.....
  8. Used to have one hang around at the 7-11 near my place. If anyone had been shopping on their bike at the market and stopped there on the way home, it would go help itself to the vegetables in the basket. Just vanished one day.....
  9. Sadly they have your email. That is a commodoty that can be passed on and I would rather they didn't retain too.
  10. TT is the best rate in all the pictures posted above by Chang_paarp for the Euro as well, Most people are not actually buying Euros, but selling them! Yenjit do look good though here....(website). Worth checking them out thanks. (Is this a new location for Yenjit? I couldn't find the place on Google Maps..just a place saying 'you save, we serve' in Thai)
  11. Yes that is correct, although beware of at least one copy cat using the same colours, but not quite offering the same rates. I have also been told of very slight variations between TT exchanges in varying locations, if I recall correctly the ones on Buakhao bettered the Beach Rd or Walking St ones.
  12. Actually I get the impression, if one is changing cash, you should just go straight to TT exchanges in Pattaya.
  13. You may be right about the headache, Leo gives me one too so it is limited to the odd few when out dining. Boozing is San Mig, closest thing to water bar ice!
  14. The last few times I tried it I felt the place needed burning down. How on Earth did it last so long when it ticked all the bad boxes?
  15. They all seem to taste much the same here. In a restaurant a large Leo over a large Heiny is my choice due to the price difference.
  16. Perhaps that is the case in one or two GGBs where the clientelle are Korean and a reputation has developed that The Western guy is unlikely to be generous. I don't need a pack of scrounging girls around me, but am certainly capable of getting the odd one for company. I am neither Korean, 20 yo, and the six-pack is likely sloshing around. Buy them drinks and they will come, if you seem to be ignored someplace, move on. I see them swarm the odd Oriental in a feeeding frenzy, but it doesn't seem to last.
  17. I doubt anyone really knows for sure. I would be inclined to say the baht will hold or strengthen against the US dollar.
  18. Yes, I got banned too Gary. I believe a left wing mod didn't like my comments in response to a Trump hater. Trump hating comments, acceptable, pointing out reality is apparently trolling. I will not acknowledge the violation either. in fact I blocked it using Adblock. As I couldn't post I just stopped visiting the site and flagged their emails as Spam. At least I won't have to read any more of Dan's crappy original posts.
  19. Correctamundo as The Fonz wouild say. Dated but good!
  20. Yes it all appears a bit chaotic but it gets done! My afternoon session wasn't too bad, just a little over 2 hours. I was the second in line of those who got postponed to the afternoon group, which put me at the front. Arrived just before 1pm... go sit in Test room 1. About 1pm we are all herded out like sheep and cramped into the testing area. My low number meant I was second in line. Color blindness test, and depth perception, I failed the depth first time and was warned, fail twice, go home, come back tomorrow. That would have been great! Luckily passed. Go back to room 1. Talking with an Oz guy he told me there is a little green ligjht you can see when the two sticks are aligned, didn't notice that! No speed/reaction braking test, bet it's broken! Room filled up and then we got to watch an hours long DVD, excrutiating! Guy comes in and you get to sign a paper per licence, but he nags you to check the details first, while keeping his hand over it! Passport returned. Go outside room, pay, photo, pick up licences. I did get a few days under 6 years as it was just after my birthday. Jobs a good 'un.
  21. That wasn't on TV in 1976!!!!
  22. No, not Bill and Ben either......
  23. I am afraid your list did not work for me! I got to about 08.50. The lady at the desk there is quite particular, and was already giving an Australian a hard time over his original Oz licence. She wouldn't accept the pictoral categories it defined even though he had a Google page giving details and explanations. For my case, renewing 2x 5 year licences, living here on a retirement extension:- All copies must be signed, and another form was given for each licence and I was told to write my name and phone number across the top... go away from desk. On return and wait I was given back one residence certificate copy and the 2 copies of my TM6 card, not needed. Instead they wanted 2 copies of my current retirement extension stamp.. signed you bet! For that, you have to go outside and across to the small shops opposite and persuadee someone to get off their phone. Back upstairs to desk 11 with the copies and my passport, wait after a couple of guys, she shuffles my paperwork, takes the new copies and the passport and gives me the red ticket number 62, and told to come back in the afternoon at 1pm for 'Training'... All full already. Fortunately I live relatively close to the place, so not the worst thing in the world, but an afternoon of my life I wanted to make use of, is no longer mine!
  24. 7900 baht at Jaymart No service plan required. But I have often found they offer special incentives or a discount if you go in person. I bought one for the Mrs a while back and she seems pretty happy with it.
  25. How sad am I...... Currently watching a UK TV series that lauds back to 1976! And quite enjoying it... The cast is like a Who's who of my Nations acting fraternity.... Any guesses.....?
