  1. Sunny and hot again in Pattaya, it's like the UK except with decent women!

  3. I believe they are grown in the Korat (Pak Chong)and Nan areas, both hilly. I tried to grow a tree from a stone in my garden... it got to sapling size and no more.

  6. Don't over-plan it .... Trips to Pattaya rarely go to plan and there are 'diversions'....
  7. I am with teelack, I found the slight tickling irritating.

  11. Your plan sounds fine. No 90 day reporting requirement as you do not plan to stay for more than 90 consecutive days. If the condo owner takes care of the TM30 better still, it is actually his responsibility. I do see a requirement to resubmit the TM30 on your return from the small trip. Obtaining a 1st time tourist visa in an adjacent country is usually OK, although one hear rumours of problems here and there. For example I hear that Penang was limiting the number it issues on a daily basis and you may get told to come back. Many people use Vientiane There is another Thai based website that specialize in Visa questions. and they have some very knowledgeable experts. I may not be up to date as I got suspended over there because of my big mouth and now don't use the site. Do a Google for Thai Visa Forum. They will recommend countries and mention any that are problematic. Did you consider applying for a Multiple Entry tourist Visa? In the UK the extra requirements are:- Original bank statement of the applicant showing a balance of at least £5,000 (for 6 months) or a print out with official stamp of the bank A letter from the applicant's employer (in the UK and addressed to the Royal Thai Embassy) ( If you are self-employed, you self-assessment and a company registration document are required.) A photocopy of the confirmed air ticket to Thailand A photocopy of the hotel reservation confirmation in Thailand
  12. I have tried it since it went 'Classic', find it very bland. I like a Leo when I am at a restaurant and maybe at home on warm evenings, it's taste can work over ice so it is refreshing. SML when out on town, perhaps I can remain not overly fat with it!

    World Cup

Yes I watched Oz and felt the same, good spirit. Didn't see any of the other games as I was in my pit early after our PT crawl the previous night. Other than Russia too many low scoring (1-0) matches, and many games a bit dull. Good on Croatia!
  14. I hold £ Sterling, we need more than luck!!!
  15. I had an unpleasant night or two when I first moved here due to large bottles of Chang. To the extent I stopped drinking it, which was a shame as I liked the taste.
  16. Chang is 5% now. Previously it seemed to vary, but I believe stated as 6.4 in the domestic brew.
  17. Thanks, that is pretty much as I believed it to be, you could buy coupons or use True Money. Although I just took a look and a new option of Bank Transfer, Paypal and even bitcoin is mentioned! Seems a complicated way to pay, having to get coupons... or go via True money. As daft as those Thai food courts where you have to Q 3 times to get served once!
  18. What numbers..... don't you have to go to the 7-11 and get some prepaid card?
  19. Yeah, tallguy reported much the same. Wonder if it is because they had to shuffle things around due to RR Engine problems or U-Tapao demand just isn't there?
  20. Well any delay at the England / Scotland border getting through the locals chucking bricks should not be any worse than whatever the M60 can come up with! Not having much luck with flights to UK for September,, might be giving Oman a try, although not happy to arrive in Manchester in the evening!
  21. Well it would be thanks to Trump then, but many would rather eat dirt than admit that!
  22. This site accesses a few of the UK channels, also this one with less success. Sometimes I get improved reception by switching in a VPN with a UK based server. But in reality the international internet seems stressed and strained during World Cup football. HDPrimeTV is a pay option, but they make paying difficult as you have to buy 'True Money' from The 7-11. An Android box/IPTV is another option, but I am already confused by 4 remote controls.
  23. Rip Torn
  24. As I said it was some time ago ago with Flybe (maybe), but via Expedia, Lastminite.com or something like that, and the options didn't come through clearly. It was a lesson well learned for me, I also believe LCC have been forced to make things clearer at the time of booking since, rather than surprise surprise extra charges at check-in. It is a domestic flight I use whenever I am in the UK. They still do a fair job of nickel and dimeing the price upwards.
