Well not really the question asked but point taken. Apples don't last all that long here! Potatoes.....I think rice would be easier. Always have a stock of beer, but there is the potential for running out if the problems are in Bangkok rather than Pattaya. In reality there is little history of such events around Pattaya, but Bangkok has flooded, which is a major supplier, and of course Phuket had an incident.

I opened a pack the other day, it was empty. I took it back to the shop and they told me it must have evaporated. I had ice ready and as looking forward to it!

And I am one of the people surprised by that. Surprised that there is anything free around there!

My Mrs was somewhere in that lot. Left the house soon after 08.30 and was stood in line on Tai until 3.30pm before getting into the Wat. She nearly gave up. I went into Numchai Service centre, they really didn't want customers, the automatic door wasn't turned on and I had to heave it open. Inside they were watching things on a bigscreen in the AC, seemed much more comfortable. They all had plans to go down to Wat Chiamongkot after 2pm when they 'closed' though.

Well I have to keep some for the lawn mower anyhow. Priorities and all that. Even when I had a lightening strike a few weeks ago, losing all my TVs, I was in dire need of cold beer!

I have toyed with the idea of a small generator as I could unplug my kitchen extension and plug it there, and keep my fridges running. But you then need to store fuel and that is a hazard.

If I recall correctly you could walk around and see a lot. I used that cable pulled tram up the hill!

Not really any! Try to make sure I have a few weeks of beer, and I too usually have 2 extra of those large bottles of drinking water, each lasts me nearly a week. The biggest issue might be if the electricity was off for an extended time and we couldn't keep things cold, I have no backup. I don't think it is an issue around Pattaya, unlike places like Ayutthaya and North Bangkok which regularly flood and badly. Didn't a lot of Bangkok residents buy condos in this area after the last floods?

They just used an automated barrier that accepted £1 coins to gain access. Presumably taxis had to pay too!

How long since you sent the previous one off...? I am guessing later than April. I had similar worries wrt some banking paperwork, got secondary automatically generated letters which were already 3-4 weeks old by the time I got them. They expected me to be more prompt, when they weren't and they hadn't figured on International postage speed. Just burned a pile yesterday.

The opinion when the matter was discussed at The Expats Club, was that they aren't requiring it for people who have been at the same residence some years. I go along with Idefix's statement. Let us know... I am up next month! As my house is in my name I always fill in a TM30 myself and take it with me, but do not include it in my pile of papers, just there if asked for. Proof of address yes. TM30 never asked for. (I usually have been out of the country during the year too)

How are things going there by the way Patna? I haven't been out on WS for a while and don't expect I will until the month ends. But talking to a friend who was in Sugarbaby recently, well he suggested the man in control there at that time, sounded very much like Mr Egg. Hope things are going OK.
