Emirates do seem to differ in their pricing structure and ticket validity. I was looking for a return ticket in Biz class Bangkok ex Manchester, but wanted the return leg slightly over 6 months after the outward. That made the ticket very expensive with most carriers but didn't seem to with Emirates, and a Biz Saver class was available. Changes are expensive though at £300 !

Oman Air don't have any A380s. I took a look at LHR-BKK and there certainly are good connections available with total trip times under 17hrs both ways, like any carrier you have to look at this carefully at the time of booking.. those get full quicker and the cheaper flights may well give you the longer layover times. The early AM departure from BKK may not suit everyone if you are trying to get there from Pattaya. My pal went on the last Bell Bus and hung around the airport all night to save a bit of money. He said flight and service all okay. They do seem to be competitive on prices.

I was out of the country for October, but a few friends have told me it was very wet. Personally, looking at the news reports of flooding in the Pattaya area I still believe it has been less than many years past.(2015 was dry). I don't believe the infrastructure has improved reducing these events, and I have yet to be trapped by rain and flood-water this year as I was about 4 years ago, and many other years.

Yes, that is what I thought, I took another look and they seem to be moving around sniffing! When I first looked they were all in the same spot and it looked like a mass attack. Don't recall noticing this on the old server. There is a different one in there now in the Calendar.

I just looked at this. There seems to be an inordinate number of Member name 'Guest' there, showing the same IP address, which resolves to France but hostname ends with cz. They are all in the location Viewing Members Calendar.....(or they were and later seemed to have moved to other places in the forum. Just seems odd.... probably a frostfire question?

Shit yeah, current rate of 44.1 at the Bangkok Bank would have got me near 20,000 more baht, a darned good night out! I need to stop thinking about transfers, random seems best!

Can't you dodge the allocated seating? (And end up sat near the toilet with an IFE box in the way). My sister did a Thompson flight recently and seemed quite happy with it. Mind you it was 4 hours not 12.

I just did an international bank transfer that got me 43.1, sadly had I done it pre Brexit I would have got about 200,000 baht more! I was hoping to catch a post election drop of the $ dragging the baht down!

Well good that the final diagnosis is OK. I am just past that worrying spell of chest and back pains I get after a trip towards Thailand. Usually it is brought on by heave-ho-ing a heavy suitcase around Manchester airport, no I am not paying a £ for a cart that should be free! Or the interminable walks from gate to immigration with my carry-on, with the single malt recently added! I once had an uncomfortable flight after some muscle strain from lifting my bag into the overhead locker. You need to talk to Bigmick, I once saw how he handled physicians at the BHP........

Had a few issues with 'Go To First Unread' with 'Service Unavailable' responses, but not 100% Other than that things are looking pretty good.
