  2. I have changed the date of my return flight quite a few times in Biz class, usually with tickets bought directly from the airlines with Middle East carriers. There is a hefty charge involved which is normally made clear at the time of booking, and depends on the class of the ticket. It can be 5000 baht, or a few hundred pounds. They also warn that there must be the same class of seat available on the flight you want to change to, else you could also be hit with an upgrade charge on top. (If the plane is pretty full you can be sure there will be no seats at the cheaper end available) It is swings and roundabouts whether paying higher class more flexible fare with say free/cheaper rescheduling will work out better, as they are substantially more expensive initially. I don't like the option of introducing an intermediary agent unless it is a shop with good personal realtions you have used for a while. I would certinly not recommend Expedia, they are dishonest and difficult to deal with, and the carrier insists you deal with them.

No, I am finding it uncomfortable in the last day or two.

  6. Heavy rain I saw was around 8-10pm.
  7. 2005 to 2022 would be a long time, I guess you have had renewals between those years! Seventeen! Mine (current) says was issued in 2007 (but that was actually the old style previous one) and expires 2018. So that total validity is 5+5 years PLUS rounding it up to my next birthday. My previous licence (old style) was a 5 year one, but was again rounded up to my next birthday.....making it look like 6 years. I recall I renewed early as the new credit card style ones had been out a while and the dopey farang toy police kept arguing over my old style Thai licence insisting it was not a valid Thai licence.
  8. Some bloody heavy rain on Tuesday night North of town, bit scary on the motorway as I drove out to the sirport. Did it cause any problems.

  11. No argument from me but you can certainly stick many areas around London too! Heathrow is an abysmal airport. Not much I can do about where I was born. Still have some relatives there but by next year I expect to be going much less.

  13. Expedia now do not respond to emails other than the automated response. Looking around Facebook and the web it appears Expedia leave a lot of dissatisfied customers behind. I would say avoid them.

  15. A few days rain...but not the old drown everything style of thunderstorms of a few years ago.

  16. Those Hoppa buses are awful. I recall trying to use them to get around Heathrow a few times. Overpriced, busy, slow, uncomfortable. Thank heaven Manchester now offers me plenty of flights.

  21. Me too.... once or twice I have had a slightly rough vehicle, shocks due replacement for example, but for many many years he has been reliable. Toom charges 1200 pick-up, 1000 drop-off.
  22. More exactly there are only a few places where you can get it. More about that than the price I think. They usually have large LPG signs. I know there is one near me, just South of the #36/Sukhumvit junction on the South bound side. Plus another just after 36 on the motorway heading towards the airport. Always regarded them as a pain for a taxi as there is no space in the boot for the suitcase.
  23. Had a good downpour last night out in the sticks (North of town). I agree it has been relatively dry so far this September. Perhaps the rainy season still has time to get going! I doubt there will be any improvement with the usual areas in town that go under water, Soi Buakhao, 3rd/Klang junction. It is a struggle to even keep the drains clear. Although I wonder if some large quantity of flood water will be held by the new tunnel rather than rushing down Klang. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to trundle out my old line of renaming Pattaya Klang to Pattaya Klong. Later Edit:-Shit, spoke too soon, it has been raining all day!
  24. They get Morris dancers prancing around down south, fairies with bells on! I can afford the tickets ex Manchester, but certainly do not have to worry about paying extra for fast Track, it is included.
  25. Yes, LPG gives it away. They have to get everyone out of the vehicle while they fill up.. Personally I would rather be in a regular petrol or diesel vehicle... heard of too many incidents of LPG vehicles catching fire.
