I have managed to check bags through from BA domestic to another carrier at Heathrow, and I believe that I checked in again at a LHR desk at the miserable Connections centre.. They do have access to that booking with limited abilities I believe..

It is a HTC One Mini 2, (what a dopey name). Global suggests it searches for all the 3 or 4 different types of Network until it is happy, 2G, 3G or 4G. It does have LTE and I thought the correct frequency too. It would not connect to 4G last night when I was in town so darned if I know. I may have to pull the SIM card and reinsert it, but will have to locate the silly little pin thing that looks like a paper clip!

I rebooted it and still no LTE ability to connect, if I select LTE only I don't have any network, no phone signal.. It tells me to put it back into Global Mode. I had read somewhere that selecting one mode reduced battery consumption as the phone will not have all its radios turned on. Have to see if it works tonight when I am in town. No sense being in LTE only mode though if I am going to lose the network when I go home! I am only 12 km north of Klang!

I was thinking or whether you could book 2 separate journey/tickets and since they are already paid for HMRC would not be aware of your arrangements, nor would your final carrier be until you checked in and asked the primary carrier to check them through. I guess HMRC have managed to close that hole somehow.

That is a good approach to saving money on the booking but I am always fearful that I would not make it to say Amsterdam on time, particularly on a budget carrier who are known to be unhelpful when there are flight delays or cancellation. Will any of them check your baggage through?

Yes I did and got all the confirmation SMS messages but am unable to get onto an LTE Network. My phone is normally in Global Mode and I switched it to LTE/CDMA. I wonder if 4G is in my current area or there is something else I need to do.

Did you try it to a USA server? I kinda wonder whether the 4G will take international bandwidth away from things like the True cable connection. And you did not need to change your SIM card? ( My phone should be good to go too). Later Edit. Shit, I just remembered I got an SMS from them Dec 13th and as usual when it is in Thai I ignored it, I think that may have been an invitation too. If I haven't deleted it I will run it through the translator and may be joining you in 4G land.

I can't believe my mate went into town to watch the match which kicked off at 3am or whatever! Can't get it at the house and am glad of it! They lost so he will be knackered and grumpy when he comes back in a few hours......... and we are supposed to be going some-place. (This is some malady being a die-hard supporter, that I am glad not to have!) Leicester go back to the top and Jose has some issues to sort out!
