  2. I just buy the regular stuff Tesco stocks, but I guess the best selection would be Big-C-X. Don't Tops have a store in The Central Festival Beach Rd....? Can you find your favourite in here and have 18 packs delivered?
  3. The deadly pedestrian crossings and the baht bus stopping restrictions (pre-defined stopping positions) are other examples of good ideas, bad implementation. I am so glad they widened Beach Rd so that vehicles can stop on the Beach side now.
  4. Ride around on a motorcycle and you notice them more!

  6. It is cancelled this year due to the continuing drought situation. (I wish).

  8. If it is that awful Australian Allowrie processed stuff you can forget it. Can't get the bloody sticky goo out of the plastic wrapper. Can't believe I bought some more of the shite! Partial to a few Ham and Cheese sarnies for lunch myself.

  10. Brr 17 DegC this morning. My feet turned blue on the bike last night!

  11. You are likely right. One thing very apparent in Chinese is they are serious where learning something is concerned.
  12. Simply keen spectators.
  13. Yes on the menu the service and VAT is already included on the price they list. They are shown without on your tab and then 10% added for service and then 7% VAT, (VAT also on service charge). My scrawny 10 wings were listed at 348.34, and add on the taxes that is exactly 410 baht.. 170 baht for a pint of draft Singha, bottles 150 each..... I like the fact that the menu shows inclusive prices, but things look cheaper on your tab. I suppose the 132 baht to watch those attractive girls walk around is a good deal, 410 for the wings is not!
  14. You did better than the Mrs sister, hers arrived 24 hours after she did.
  15. A very breezy day yesterday and barely 20 DegC this morning.

  16. Two players needed their medication. This was denied
  17. Thanks for that, very interesting... here is an excerpt. The deal was: - each person is charged with gambling, bail set at 5,000b - each person signs document agreeing that they had been gambling - we are released that night after bail payment - we attend court the next morning to answer the charges This is 'justice' here.
  18. Walked past there the other night and the place was doing well. Last time I ate there was for the Sunday roast I think, all well, good service. Pork ribs are commonplace and do mostly taste of the sauce served with them, it is all a matter of the amount of meat on them. It is a bit of an optical illusion of course, looks huge when presented but is mostly bones. and leaves an unappetising appearance when completed as does wings or KFC, like a prehistoric bone-yard. The soi 13 Sportsman has been there quite a few decades now and seems to have remained popular and of a good standard.
  19. So if you landed 40 minutes early, your bags were on time, not delayed.

  21. The BBC are running it but no mention of the lady being held. I see Barry Kenyon was involved (or was he there playing a hand?) although I do not know what his 'capacity' is these days. I told my Mrs about it and she had not heard of anything so perhaps the Thai press are not running it. I have stopped playing Solitaire on my computer for fear of a Swat team and abseiling police from helicopters. Later Edit: I have just read that Barry was playing that day and presumably arrested, so much for British Consular influence, surely this man is well known to the police as he would have attended many a person in trouble in soi 9 and did a long spell assisting in immigration soi 5.
  22. A simple 'release her NOW and drop this' is what I hope for... with some subsequent knocking of silly heads. Let us see.....
  23. The old Dr Kildare.... but also... The Return of the Musketeers.
  24. I am more distressed that people are jailed for not signing a 'confession'..... It is one step down from torturing!
