  1. How much is it now, I seem to recall paying about 850 baht per box previously, although nearer 1000 last trip? I used to take my brother 2 boxes every trip and he would use one and sell the other to pay for his beer, I seem to recall each box would cost £80+ in the UK. My sister recently surprised me and asked for rolling tobacco instead of Embassy Regal, it appears she has taken to roiling them in the UK due to the price of regular cigarettes. Has the supply of 'smuggled' ones in the UK dried up these days? I always laugh at the so called duty free price of tobacco (and perfumes for that matter) in UK airport duty free shops, way more than many other places around the world, and some items not cheaper than WH Smiths on the High St.
  2. Perhaps that was the last of my quiet nights without an AC!

  3. Claiming from £1200 Biz with Turkish from my destination. Can't really look at the details as it isn't an on-line booking engine, more a send enquiry type of approach. Dates would suit me great but I am at the wrong end of that trip! I tried Turkish Airlines directly Ex BKK, coming in at 102,000 baht! Some difference there! Finnish still coming in best here 87,000 baht, but don't like the arrival times, Emirates 94,000, Qatar 116,000, Etihad 96,000 BA 103,000 Qatar will not get many bookings at that price so I am betting on another sale from them, at the moment they have some Valentines day 2 for 1 deal and that will have to pass. I see Japan Airlines will drop fuel surcharges soon, so I still have hopes of cheaper tickets, although there is a likelihood it will only be for the arse end!
  4. Well Mr T is not really a fully fledged taxi, but even those in the airport rank will be happy to drive you for 1500 (my last experience), no meter of course.
  5. Yes they went up recently due to excise tax increases, I read it on Thai visa. That says only 5-10 baht though.
  6. I was sat near an MP only yesterday and 2-3 of the girls were playing cards to kill time and I wondered if they would be nervous of a police raid..... ahah, no evidence of providing sexual services, so get them for playing solitaire!
  7. NO, that has been used before too. Research, Mr Pastry!
  8. When in a deep hole looking silly, keep digging downwards looking for a way out! Prosecution of Pattaya Bridge Players will continue as planned
  9. Michael Caine no, that has been used.
  10. There is an app called 'Grab Taxi' that includes Pattaya, I haven't tried it yet and keep it on my phone as a sort of emergency option.
  11. Julie Walters
  12. I just buy the regular stuff Tesco stocks, but I guess the best selection would be Big-C-X. Don't Tops have a store in The Central Festival Beach Rd....? Can you find your favourite in here and have 18 packs delivered?
  13. The deadly pedestrian crossings and the baht bus stopping restrictions (pre-defined stopping positions) are other examples of good ideas, bad implementation. I am so glad they widened Beach Rd so that vehicles can stop on the Beach side now.
  14. Ride around on a motorcycle and you notice them more!
  15. Forest Whitaker
  16. It is cancelled this year due to the continuing drought situation. (I wish).
  17. Flight
  18. If it is that awful Australian Allowrie processed stuff you can forget it. Can't get the bloody sticky goo out of the plastic wrapper. Can't believe I bought some more of the shite! Partial to a few Ham and Cheese sarnies for lunch myself.
  19. The Flintstones
  20. Brr 17 DegC this morning. My feet turned blue on the bike last night!

  21. You are likely right. One thing very apparent in Chinese is they are serious where learning something is concerned.
  22. Simply keen spectators.
  23. Yes on the menu the service and VAT is already included on the price they list. They are shown without on your tab and then 10% added for service and then 7% VAT, (VAT also on service charge). My scrawny 10 wings were listed at 348.34, and add on the taxes that is exactly 410 baht.. 170 baht for a pint of draft Singha, bottles 150 each..... I like the fact that the menu shows inclusive prices, but things look cheaper on your tab. I suppose the 132 baht to watch those attractive girls walk around is a good deal, 410 for the wings is not!
  24. You did better than the Mrs sister, hers arrived 24 hours after she did.
  25. A very breezy day yesterday and barely 20 DegC this morning.
