Vendors have been known to embellish and even misrepresent. Since this isn't just the classified section of a newspaper 'questions' and comments benefit the board. If whatever is being hawked is a good buy, and the seller confident enough, the item will sell. I guess some disadvantages come along with the free advertising to a target audience. (Even the board owner permits criticism of his bar.. quite refreshing)

Yes, sliding doors would have been better, these appear hinged and there is something to stub the toe on there too.I fall over floor fans never mind a tall thin vase full of twigs in the middle of the floor... Looks like a nice place though.

If you are going to forfeit the deposit, perhaps better to pay a bit more where one is not required.

I am confused by this.

It seems strange to me, surely packing and shipping of things from Thailand to the USA would be more onerous that simply waiting by the carousel for a suitcase. Not to mention more expensive....presuming of course nothing oversized. But a good heads up for guys going to LAX.

Quite a challenge I think, 200 baht/ night. I am thinking of apartments over on the dark side. Most of the cheaper places I see in town are looking for short-term 500 baht.night as it is high season. Another problem is places that cheap will be for a minimum term (more than 2 months) and require deposits and 2 months up-front.

Well this could have been any woman really, not only a burka clad muslim one, but I do accept the possibility such a woman would talk down to a receptionist, they are arrogant and have been known to abuse servants. But the receptionist should have been trained to handle such situations, and been able to hand off the problem to a senior, preferably male, (and Jewish).

There is an outfit in Pattaya who retransmit the major UK TV channels from Bangkok. I believe it requires about 2MB speed and domestically that is quite easy.... although I cannot speak for all of the 'villages'. Obviously the problem is that many of the Premiership games are not shown on BBC1/2, ITV, Ch4 or Ch 5. Check out the website and note, I have no personal experience.
