Displayed prices are for multiple nights. Check the site for price per night. I see hostels starting at 200b/day and hotels from 500b/day on agoda.

Quite a challenge I think, 200 baht/ night. I am thinking of apartments over on the dark side. Most of the cheaper places I see in town are looking for short-term 500 baht.night as it is high season. Another problem is places that cheap will be for a minimum term (more than 2 months) and require deposits and 2 months up-front.

Not live, only recorded highlights.... although Cup games can be seen. -

Yes I thought I mentioned that, although they can show some of them as highlights later. 'Match of the day'...you just get to see mainly the goals.I included a link in the above post which perhaps you cannot see on your phone. -
Well this could have been any woman really, not only a burka clad muslim one, but I do accept the possibility such a woman would talk down to a receptionist, they are arrogant and have been known to abuse servants. But the receptionist should have been trained to handle such situations, and been able to hand off the problem to a senior, preferably male, (and Jewish).

That place is getting good reviews for it's roast dinners too.

There is an outfit in Pattaya who retransmit the major UK TV channels from Bangkok. I believe it requires about 2MB speed and domestically that is quite easy.... although I cannot speak for all of the 'villages'. Obviously the problem is that many of the Premiership games are not shown on BBC1/2, ITV, Ch4 or Ch 5. Check out the website and note, I have no personal experience. -

Dee-khua means better? Was that it? khua meaning 'more' but requiring an adjective. -
You think it is 'crepe'.................?I think it tastes quite good! (Stolen from Kenny Everett)

Having that happen practically on the stroke of midnight must have seemed 'arranged'..... They guy who got the short straw at the power station was not happy to be at work! I suppose the fireworks looked special though.

Apparently frequently played while riding a motorcycle here!

Pattaya is always a few days later, in fact a few regions have their own days, Pattaya makes a week or more of it culminating in a final crazy day (19th).

Outdoor fitness park in Pattaya?
jacko replied to Calm-a's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
That was my first thought but reading the OP I think he meant a proper gym.I wouldn't be hanging around that Pratumnak Hill place too late at night. Try reading this. -
Help & Advice Needed regards trip to pattaya

I went to the floating market not long back... it was truly crap! I believe they have since started charging for entrance. Original poster..... Mid January is still high season, and you did not mention how long you would be in town, and whether you could spend 3 or 4 days travelling further out, or needed to stay close to Pattaya. Surin is maybe 500km away. There are plenty of 'tourist attractions' around Pattaya, but it's main theme is the 'night-life'. There are also lady-boy shows that are very popular, not my thing but women seem to go for them. -
It is 10 baht, Roland's ten baht! But that does look like a good meal, and at 295 baht a good price.

Help & Advice Needed regards trip to pattaya
jacko replied to Donny23's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
Bangkok to Pattaya. If you have your wife with you an airport taxi would be most comfortable and take you straight to where you want to go. (have a phone number or print a map off the internet as the driver will not know his way around Pattaya). There are large vehicles available if you have a lot of baggage. Probably do it for 2000 baht. Pattaya is a touristy place, you can go to the elephant village but it doesn't sound like what you are after, that sounds more like a Surin resort, a long way off. Fishing trips are hard to arrange unless you can get a large enough group together. Again the touristy boat trips, ride to beach, swim, small fish fishing and snorkelling with maybe a meal are commonplace and can be arranged at agents and hotel help desks. Everyone visits Nong Nooch, Sanctuary of Truth, etc etc. But to be honest I wonder whether Pattaya is what you are after. It is very sex orientated! -
I think the approach works better in the USA where many cities are built on a grid type network of N-S and E-W roads. Thailand cities aren't like that....nor the UK if it comes to that matter. Most of the now big cities are on rivers which forced a different arrangement.

Beware of the silly little fishing trips where they go for pla dang with dead bait. A good fishing trip involves the bot going out in the night and catching live squid for bait. I have never had much luck with dead squid, barracuda and cobia might go for it, but queen fish not.

Bottled Carlsberg just doesn't seem to be widely available yet, I enjoyed a few while in a nearby country lately and would be glad to see it return.

Heaven Above’s X-Mas Parties, Mon-Tue 24-25 Dec

I don't think it would be such a rare ask, certainly not this week with the town so busy. Likely a lot of tourists would think this a deal as they would compare to their home prices, and a good looking Thai girl, well, start high and let us see what flies. -
I don't think she appeared in that...she was a voice......singing. Using 24hr rule for Lulu, and to have a 'get out' I would go with.. The Cherry Picker.
