You are paying a deposit for something that isn't there, instalments for something that I hope was currently under construction, and was required to hand over the balance at completion/ handover. Yeah, the usual suspects, Homeworks, HomePro etc. They even have them in Big C. These things are like printers, they make their money selling the cartridges. The smaller filters seem to be a standard size of about 35 cm x 10cm cylinder. I take them out and give them a good washing,and re-use them, they are like a fibrous tough material, the paper ones couldn't be re-used. I am cleaning off what looks like a green slime. Remember you will need isolation valves to let you do this, I do plumbing myself mostly, this blue plastic pipe is dead easy.

The pool at the Mercure was reopened in time for high season, didn't really look much different to me but it has always been quite nice.I believe it has been 'sold on' but so far seems to be retaining the Mercure name. F&B standards have slipped in my mind and the place appears to undergoing a shift in customer base.

Sorry to say I agree, nothing special, just pub grub. Their roast meals I found particularly bland. But the service is good and you can easily get a seat inside, read a paper and get 'something and chips' that you are hankering after at a low price. Pre-beer stomach lining, similar to the Seaside Restaurant.

I often go via the Middle East, and I don't see too many passengers who got on with me get off at BKK.So I guess the traffic wouldn't justify it. Not sure I would use Thai either if they did....... would depend on the price. Not that I wouldn't appreciate getting it over with, done plenty of non-stops from Europe/London. Of course Manchester-Karachi is another matter.

You were asking , And the two answers are. 1) They were insufficiently tested. 2) They are being manufactured/tested or supplied differently than those which were tested. Testing is often developed well before items go into production... I was involved in software testing for aircraft and often complained that the tests were targeting the features and capabilities of the software and not throwing any complex scenarios at it. This happens when something is completely new. It is obvious that there is a problem with the battery/ charging and how it behaves perhaps after many cycles, be it of charge or other affects flight subjects them to. Other problems I had was when we changed suppliers, particularly to overseas suppliers, and some fool deemed they could self certify, or be responsible for their own QC. It will be interesting to find out what happened here, if it ever becomes public knowledge.

I am not sure where you get this 'testing' information and are you asking a rhetorical question (who would you expect to answer these questions here on a pussy forum?)Lithium batteries were a know flight hazard, the several thousand hours of testing may not have beeen consecutive, namely tests accumulated using many aircraft/ and many different batteries. There could be an ageing/ cumulative pressure cycling affect, or the manufacturing specifications not adhered to. I am thinking of the Comet. Perhaps also Concorde, which explored many new technologies.

It is at it's most efficient when the engines are stopped and it is being pulled around by an electric towing vehicle.
