Well the rentals are only good for within the City limits I believe.Coincidentally I got pulled over yesterday....just past Klang on 2nd. Pulling all and sundry to fill the coffers. He checked my licence then wanted to see the registration disc, and thought he had 'gotch-ya' when he saw it was expired, but I pulled out the new one. He didn't seem to be a humorous type. Off I went. A couple of Arabs behind, on a bigger machine were allowed to go unmolested too.... a likely assumption they had rented it, so guessing some renters make sure all is in order. I have to accept that the responsibility for ensuring all is in order, as far as the police are concerned, should lie with the ass on teh seat. The UK.... normally old vehicles are taken away, people don't register/tax them nor insure them and a new law allows them to be taken.

Why didn't you return to the renter after the first instance?It is likely, that if he didn't register the bike, he didn't bother to get the 'obligatory' 3rd party (CTPL?) insurance too. It isn't going to happen in the UK is it, as the registration is displayed in a car, as it should here. My experience with being stopped by Thai police ( 6 days ago) has always been reasonable, and I am quickly waved on without hinderance when they see a Thai licence. Next time you rent, look for registration, insurance and a copy of the book and rental agreement... all of which is required along with your licence if you are stopped.

I think you were ultimately correct, we are meant to name an actor from the same movie. Despite 2 movies having the same name, they are not 'The Same Movie', being decades apart. ( I liked the 1978 version with RM)... but I know another one in it. So... Oliver Reed

It is 'The Business Model' of how these carriers start off. Competitive prices to draw in the business and loyalty, then to squeeze them up. They seem to have a big pot of gold when they start doing business. Anyhow, the competition is good, and they offer alternatives from Manchester and other regional airports than going through that outdated shit-hole Heathrow. When it comes time for me to book my next one, I will have taken information from here and tried bookings direct with the airline websites to compare carriers, like you avoiding lesser known or scary ones. I wish the European Carriers would compete better ex-Bangkok.

I am pretty sure you could... they don't look too closely at the UK one to figure out what you have.But you might be a in a situation if you had an accident, no insurance etc etc. I think you would get away with it if you stayed around town, but once you get on the outskirts there are checks and falangs often get stopped, and it is licence checking........ Mind you, I don't think a lot of the locals have a licence either.

But a nice row of butts, as per Bazle is quite agreeable. I thought this was coming, I must admit to being a bit shocked by a couple over the morning coffee once or twice and wondered what the thoughts behind the owners was!

I got stuck around the Soi 7 area last night. Crap night out. When the rain came The Silver Star (2)... on soi 7 seemed to give up on the evening, realising no customers would be walking around outside, and those in there already were trapped, so fuck you and they put on Thai music and cranked the volume up. The girls loved it, and I wouldn't have minded a few songs to improve the atmosphere, but twenty minutes later my ears are beginning to bleed so I thought 'fuck them' and went out into the rain. Tried the 'Clinic' a few doors away.... poor. Even back around the corner, arriving dripping, The Worldwide' was slow, few girls and too many men. I never even bought a LD all night, very unusual, but no regulars seemed to be about, and the girls don't have the patience for my 10 minute rule. I was also told SS 1, in Soi 8, was under renovation, again! Just been done hasn't it, I know I wasn't impressed, but more to do with the smell!

Well I have a few things in there.... recent events warrant a waterproof jacket, a chain and padlock for those places I deem risky, a disk-lock for lesser risk, a paper holder with licence copy, insurance and reg copies..... and a padlock without a key in case someone blocks me in with their steering lock on!I viewed an Airblade before buying the Nuovo. All irrelevant really as I put a back-box on it.

Well mine isn't a full face, it hasn't got the solid bit that goes over the chin at the front and I struggle to get it under the seat on my Nuovo..... often having to move a few other things inside the helmet before I can lock the seat down. I know the Honda Airblade has more under seat space as the fuel tank is lower.

I got the TGF to make one of MM's current favourites, Pork waterfall, (nam tok moo). I have eaten this before but never made at home. The little market nearby didn't have any BBQ pork, so she had to do that at home first. ( I prefer that anyhow as when you buy pre-cooked stuff the ingredients are often lacking, too much skin, fat and offal in the pork, splintered bones and chicken skin rather than meat). It was pretty good, and similar in taste to how she makes laab moo. Good to have uncooked veggies too. Good to increase her repertoire, somewhat limited by her own pernickety tastes and eating restrictions.
