  1. Darn ya. I was just tucking into a plate of fresh tropical fruits and your picture put me off it. I want the same as you now!
  2. They got floods there!
  3. Quite right, parking at the condo will be tough this weekend.
  4. You wouldn't say that had you seen the traffic. You do realise Bangkok is a little bit bigger than Pattaya don't you.
  5. Someone got me some for Christmas.... Burned the fuckin' skin off my face.
  6. I have heard rumour of a double pricing policy ex Thailand, not sure on that one.I always felt the Thais around me in many restaurants got served ahead of me, but hey, their country.
  7. We could use a password system.Answer 3 questions correctly. 1) Who on PT knows everything? 2) Who is fat and bald and currently banned from posting. 3) How much does Gabor pay? And you get the PT benefits.

    Floods

Well it is creeping near to areas perhaps some mongers know. Disaster struck when the flood barricade defending the Phra Khanong canal’s embankments suddenly broke down, discharging large volumes of water to inundate Sukhumvit 48 and 50 roads. Currently in Pattaya the sun could burn the skin off your back. As forecast roads were chock-a-block last night heading into Pattaya and some stupid Bangkok cow nearly knocked me off my bike because she wasn't looking ahead. Another goon had pulled over on the RHS of the carriage way, hazards on at least, bonnet/hood up. She was overtaking me as I overtook a m/c sidecar and then had to swerve left as she had not been looking and nearly hit me. Thai drivers are fucking stupid. Big tangle at railway line/Soi siam CC. Managed to push through on the bike but most were stationary. Things seemed OK once I got onto Klang although the police had closed it at TOPS. I drove through the barriers! Good night out with no apparent differences. If the sun is blasting in Bangkok like this it should evaporate all of it by tomorrow!!!
  10. Bill, that OP question was posted 7 years ago. MCC has got married, moved to Surin and built a house and bought 3 buffalos already.
  11. I'll be in Pattaya for a night on the town tonight. I was considering not bothering as I expect traffic problems and crowds, and there is always a good chance City Hall will clog some roads for a market or some festival just to add to the confusion.
  12. I see the new crown prince of KSA happens to have the same name as the current one. (bin Abdul Aziz)No need to vote twice to get more of the same there eh?
  13. I sometimes do the Chinaman pants impression in front of the TGF and sadly she is non too impressed.
  14. You are right there, Saudi was full of them!
  15. You are being a worry wart. The hotels are always full around Christmas, flood or not. By December waters will have receded and the supply chains re-instated, people will be anxious to get back to making money and work hard to achieve it. Water supplies in Pattaya are unlikely to be affected by flooding in Bangkok. Why should flights be affected, so far, long hauls have not been and we are in the worst of it.
  16. Jodie Foster.
  17. You may not get to my age so don't knock it.I can't do anything about it, nor can you. Tempest fugit and all that.
  18. The Rayong radar seems to be stuck in a loop for October 20th for me! So not much use. Previously it had given me great warnings of rain on the way.
  19. Tequila Reef?
  20. Beowulf.
  21. As a swap?

    Flooding

Yes the banks were closed here Monday. It was Rama v day, that is why I waited until Tuesday.
  23. Well for those unsure of the rules.... Link
  24. To hell with bottled water, I just visited the Tesco convenience store around the corner and the beer shelves exhibited quite a dearth of supplies. A few lonely cans of Tiger and some Chang. That got me thinking so I shot off to my distributor and managed to get a few cases of SML, 865 baht each! The lady in ths shop is telling me some places in town have run out of stock, although I was looking at a veritable wall of Leo large bottles. Of course the SML comes from Pathumthani, north of Bangkok, under water. Prior to this I wasn't thinking this was going to be much of a problem here, hell it is Bangkok, where the weekend and holiday obnoxious drivers come from. But problems are spreading...... imagine, Pattaya without beer.
