  1. 23,000 BTU sounds excessive for a 40 sqm room. I have a unit of that capacity for my large lounge/ dining room. Over-rating is a waste of money as these big units are expensive, and the compressors are heavier to fit on a condo outside wall or use up the balcony. They will cycle excessively and use more power. You would not need to go so big unless the room had high ceilings and was south facing, or had a large window area, or you were baking pizzas in there all day. 40 sqm is 430 sqft (for you USA guys), about the size of my bedroom. The 12,000 Samsung unit I have is more than adequate. I admit it is used only at night-time.

  6. Well Boeing seem to be going with the Trent 1000 on the Dreamliner. A better indicator might be the number removed from service.

  9. No, nor is a green badge and a few thousand baht I suppose. But it seems better than having my time and money wasted on a very likely no!

  11. These things are a nightmare to find in Pattaya. Language barrier doesn't help. It's trhe sort of thing I bring from the UK on my trips, or you can get a friend who is off to farangland to bring back. I haven;t seen them in the usual places, Homeworks, HomePro. There is a little electrical shop on Pattaya Nua, head towardss Sukhumivit and it is on the block after the bus station. What you want is a delay on the switch and a regulat exhaust fan. Something like this If it is incorporated into the fan you will need to run 3 wires to it, live, switched and neutral.

  14. It doesn't matter when it is a ratio.35mm to 100mm in whatever. Although a tapered glass would not work.
  15. Hell no, but I like the red badge idea.
  16. Actually I am inclined to think 'if you want to buy' do it now. I believe prices will be on the rise again soon. Owning your own place has some benefits, one being that you save on monthly rent. It is a decision not to be taken lightly. Negatives being, risk of not being able to own the land, the extra expenses of maintenance and improvements, being tied down, your money tied up. But not having to pay off someone else's mortgage is an advantage, and it seems to be a basic human desire to own your own place, make it yours, as you like, surround yourself with your own crap and toys. I just don't see it as only a long term investment, I see it as a place to make your own home and live well.

  23. What....... A place intrduces a joiner fee, BMs report and discuss the fact, and you think they should be banned? This is a monger's forum and joiner fees, after the walk of shame, are an old bugbear. Do you have any connection to this place, which by the way I have been to!

  25. Staphylococcal toxins are fast acting, sometimes causing illness in as little as 30 minutes. Symptoms usually develop within one to six hours after eating contaminated food. Patients typically experience several of the following: nausea, vomiting, stomach cramps, and diarrhea. The illness is usually mild and most patients recover after one to three days. In a small minority of patients the illness may be more severe.
