  1. Yes and no pool. The land area (1228 m2, or 3/4 rai) is enough to build a condo on.
  2. Currently in Thai or company name?
  3. Andre the Giant.
  4. Scenes from A Mall.
  5. Theft insurance is often offered with a new bike by the dealer, after that it is rather expensive.
  6. A midsummer night's sex comedy.
  7. Annie Hall.
  8. The Fly.
  9. Possibly an issue with Manchester airport and not a factor of Ethiad.LHR did that to me so many times, BA flights, it was one reason why I stopped using them. Once sat there on the tarmac waiting for over 1/2 hour as they couldn't find a gate for us at LHR. I felt like I had been kidnapped. I don't particularly like the transit at Abu Dhabi, that terminal is rather grotty and crowded.
  10. Alec Baldwin
  11. That sums it up for me too. It looks bland, but I guess MM will dress it up slowly if he doesn't get stupid comments like 'this doesn't work' oops oh yes it does....
  12. Underworld.
  13. Mission Impossible 2.
  14. You can do the compulsory insurance at an insurance brokers too.In fact if you take on supplementary (more comprehensive) insurance it is a good idea to get that and the compulsory from the same company. It is recommended for farangs too as the compulsory/ government insurance does not carry enough of a bond to cover farangs. The sticker for the bike (registration/tax), well you pretty much have to go out there to the vehicle registration place on Rt36 (not the land office). There are some outfits that will take care of it for you at a charge, but I get the TGF to take care of mine.
  15. I am from the cup winning city....... I detest London Heathrow so changing there is not on my list. The choices with a single change are many. The 3 Middle East Airlines, Emirates, Qatar and Ethiad. Not much need to look further afield really. All quite good. China Airlines or KLM with changes in Amsterdam... not as good but Amsterdm is OK for transit. Lufthansa, Fin Air, Scandanavian, Swiss, Turkish, Air France and a few others. For price, try Opodo to get an idea. But for the Middle East carriers always go back and try their site as sometimes they offer the best price there. I just did a quick check on Opodo and they come up with £590 on Qatar. Their site offered the same. beware of long layovers in the ME which I think are not worth the saving on flight cost.
  16. So this thread is about the Russian president Bush and the Moscow songkran water throwing.?
  17. I saw one having the shit knocked out of him outside Silver Star on WS. Young lad who thought hiding the bills in his pocket would save him money. Hard to form an opinion of the Russians because the only one I have developed is that they keep to themselves. I recall another one rather arrogantly telling a Thai how he came from big country and she from little place. But he was an exception, he spoke English. They seem to soak up the free shows and behave frugally and haver been a godsend for the crappy hotels way out of town.
  18. To Kill A King
  19. It was quite easy.I live here and have had an account there for some years, and the guy behind the desk must be on commission as he was dead keen. He filled the forms in, copies of passport, sign, sign, sign and I had them. As I had to open a fixed term deposit to cover the credit line, and it is paid off at months end, it isn't really a credit card as such. Likely not much different from using the ATM/Debit card.
  20. Raising Arizona.
  21. Matchstick Men.
  22. The Green Mile.
  23. I recently got 2 credit cards with Bangkok Bank. I also got them listed on my Interent Banking. I had to put a chunk more than the credit limit into a 15 month fixed term deposit. I quickly tried them out at Carrefour and Homeworks, pretty straightforward, and no apparent charges involved. It gets paid off completely from my savings account the next month. Then I got a nice surprise as a computer back-pack was delivered to my home. A free gift from BB. But for the real reason I got them, which was to pay for an Airfare when booking a flight on-line, well that didn't work and it just seemed to hang at the security question stage (paying in Thai baht to a foreign airline). Had to use a UK card and accept the currency exchange hit.
  24. As I posted once I have had some money removed from my box behind reception. I didn't lose the whole lot, but some TCs were taken. At this point I don't see any reason to doubt the OP, I would appreciate some more details on how he interacted with the BIB. Generally deposit boxes are under security cameras.
  25. The Shawshank Redemption
