  1. Tombstone.
  2. My aged memory seems to think the Italians started it all. I mean who could be better at over-acting with all that operatic background?
  3. Well I agree that when the cops are in control of the lights one direction or more will be backed up.But all those roads heading from the Darkside to Sukhumvit are problematic during 'rush periods'. I always turn left and then rt passing Numchai and the Bangkok Bank. I am more annoyed by the fact that every car in front of me seems to have to make the decision to engage brain, engage gear, slowly move forward in turns. There is a hell of a confusion at Khao Talo and the railway Line Bypass every day. Driving around Pattaya is shite these days, don't let it get to you.
  4. This was posted first and seems to have been overlooked. Lisa Kudrow.
  5. Good luck with that.By 'buy her out' there is still the issue of who owns the land.
  6. Well that arrangement has worked for some, ie those who have had a disagreeable split yet retained 'ownership' of their homes. But I also have heard of nasty things happening like the lady getting some judge to sign something and she arrives with a few friends, trucks and policemen and suddenly the guy is living in a shell. And if the house was located in her village, on her land, I would certainly be looking over my shoulder. I believe the arrangement is sound, but TIT!

  8. Don't forget guys, if you have a mobile phone for LOS, normally you can get onto the internet quite cheaply (Edge). In my case I connect the Sony Ericsson phone via USB, with 1-2-Call prepaid SIM in there. PC Suite connects me easily. Prepaid bolt-ons for 1-2-Call quite cheap... starting at 49 baht/24 hours unlimited.

  10. Hard to determine from the OP.I thought he perhaps had the 30 year lease on the land, which is owned by his wife. If the land is actually owned by a third party, and a 30 year lease taken out on it in his wifes name, well that is what you said.
  11. I have to add that I have removed Noscript. And that in itself was a bit of an effort. I am just not technically competent enough to deal with this feature and it blocks too many necessary things. Particularly when relating to booking engines.
  12. Paint Your Wagon.
  13. John Malkovich
  14. Diane Lane
  15. You are quite right...... When I bought a few cases of beer yesterday and was fishing around for a 5 baht coin to go with the 3x1000 baht notes and a hundred for the 3105 bill, she said 'Mai pen rai'.....
  16. Apology accepted.....
  17. In the news recently with health concerns.... Intolerable Cruelty.
  18. Catherine Keener
  19. We have a Mum Aroy on 3rd Rd near Nova Park area and another behind Banglamung Police Station, edge of Naklua. That place is always busy. I went to a good place recently in the Naklua/ Wong Amat area, called 'Shell Tankay'.... It was on Soi 12, behind Zign hotel I think it was, on the water. Awkward to get to.
  20. And you booked it?
  21. I was in Bangkok with a friend and the couple of girls we were with suggested a trip to Pattaya. The lure of the beaches was too much....
  22. The food is mediocre and service lacking.Super ambience and interesting place to look around. A little out of the way for lunch.
  23. How about when you phony up a post plagiarising another's work and put your name on that?
  24. Yes do that. I often purchase on arrival at Bangkok, usually because I have been horrified by prices in Manchester, then found out that they are more in Doha, then obliged to buy in Bangkok. Can't even get the rolling baccy in Bangkok for the other way now, and all the ciggies are covered in vile pictures. A resource comparing duty free prices would be useful....
