  3. Sorry if this confuses you, but you need to answer with a film that Patrick was in, other than that mentioned. Patrick Stewart.
  4. Has your sister considered adoption within the UK?
  5. Coincidentally a neighbour mentioned this place as a good place for lunch recently.

  8. It is on Highway 36, Pong District I think, just past the Motorway junction heading towards Rayong. If you know how to use Google Maps punch this in. 12.922406, 101.009263‎ +12° 55' 20.66", +101° 0' 33.35"
  9. Eight hours is a disgusting layover.... particularly in Abu Dhabi. Tempting to get a taxi into town and enjoy a few bars. Mind you there goers the £100 you saved.

  11. Fascinos, and using one of their discount cards. Particularly the smaller one behind Numchai/Bangkok Bank on Sukhumvit.
  12. With the might of Saudi behind them, Bahrain appears to have quietened down. Gulf Air is a loss making carrier and that is often a worrying factor. I did a quick check and their last few flights into BKK have been on-time. If it is a matter of not worrying, pay the extra to fly Emirates or Qatar etc... there is hardly any shortage of options from London. Avoid layover by going direct (BA/Qantas/Eva/Thai). Also be aware that the Islamic holiday of Eid al Adha is early November and their New Year, Nov 26th which will affect availability and prices. Have you looked into Oman Air?

  17. I was in T2 myself and in one of the airline lounges, where I would hope to get a freebie. To be honest I got fed up of trying out the several wireless networks I could see there (the ones I wanted not showing up) so just got the dongle out.

  19. Quite right and thanks for the update on the Tesco ones. When I go to Homeworks I take the umbrella out of the truck. I wouldn't risk the one in Carrefour, US on Tuesday again.

  21. On my recent trip the only place I found free Wi-Fi was at Bangkok airport. Couldn't get it at Doha or Manchester. Manchester surprised me, I thought I would find it there, but the few networks I logged on to wanted money. I had expected my 3G dongle contract to allow me onto some wireless network (The Cloud, or BT Openzone)but no signal to be found. Sign of the times these days, very little offered for free, even if free is at the cost of an elitist ticket price.
  22. Emirates, for example, seem to charge more for legs where the A380 is utilised. I noticed when trying to book recently. That suggests there is more of a demand for the A380 seats. Even on a personal level, I would like to give the Emirates A380 Biz Class a go, it is just that I prefer to pay less not more. As to when the A380 will be profitable... He said the A380 program was not behind its production plan for 18 months and should be profitable in 2014 or 2015. Source. Plenty of places where you can find such a statement, whether it is credible, well, who knows, money gets moved around from column to column doesn't it?
  23. A more relevent pont I read recently was that effectively the EU is subsidising the demise of it's own airline industry. Carriers like Emirates and a few others have made big purchases from Airbus using 'credit/finaqncial arrangements' offered from Europe. That in itself is Europe subsidisnig Airbus, but nothing new there. Sadly, those very aircraft then compete with the European carriers, Lufthansa, AF/KLM, BA etc etc. The number of flights leaving daily from Manchester to the Middle East now certainly is not all oil worker passengers. Travellers to Far afield will use these ME carriers, which often offer better prices and quality of service than say BA. I use them myself. But I have a phobia about BA and Heathrow.
