Well you seem to be paying twice as much as me for a similar service? Great ping though.
  2. Then why did you chop the relevant second sentence????
  3. The European Union will lend it to them.
  4. A 5yr licence will only be issued to a foreigner if you have a Non-Immigrant visa in your passport, or hold a Residence Permit. A 1yr licence is issued using any kind of visa or entry permit, and may be renewed (for 1 year) if necessary. Documents needed for renewal of Thai driving license: 1. Passport + 1 signed copy of each - (a) 'face' page, ( non-immigration visa page, © current TM6 card & latest entry stamp page. 2. Photos are no longer required as they use digital photo images engraved on a hard 'credit-card' style permit. Ladies - please note that you must have your shoulders covered for official photos. 3. Letter of 'Fit-to-drive' from Doctor - 200 baht (must be less than 30 days old). 4. 1 residence certificate from Pattaya Immigration (dated within 30 days of renewal). 5. Money 665 (500+55) baht for car - 365 baht for motor-cycle. 6. Your old Thai driving license(s). (A 'TM6 card' refers to the Immigration Departure card attached to your passport during your stay in Thailand. It has a reference number (TM6) that tells where & when you entered Thailand) (The letter of 'Fit-to-drive' from a Doctor is again required) o-o-o-o-o Whatever the official of the day decides, I like to take along the stated requirements so as not to be out there wanting. Pattaya Expats Club...
  5. I am a light sleeper. I need booze, a bit of food, a bit more booze, a big seat, and I might nod off during the film and get 2 hours sleep out of the 11 hours trip.
  6. Good point, I do hope someone remembers to post it again when it does become the worlds biggest ever aircraft order!
  7. You are seriously going back to the UK in February?
  8. Matchstick Men.
  9. Big Fish
  10. I smell a rat, an old rat!
  11. It seems to have been a volatile day on the currency markets... SCB released 19 updates on their exchange rates (10th) Fear over Portugal needing a loan hitting Euro, optimism over bond buying in the USA, this is giving confidence in US$, GBP often follows it! (PS. I changed a chunk of sterling into baht too last week... : )
  12. Moulin Rouge.
  13. Reported at the Expats Club yesterday that the Aeon machine did not charge the 150 baht for foreign ATM cards. My personal experience today was that I don't think I was charged 150 baht, although it is hard to be sure (the sun on the machine at Homeworks makes it illegible). Nor did the ancient dalek of a machine give me a printout. It did hit my limit and refuse to give me 20k though...hasn't happened b4, so either exchange rate bad, or there is an extra 150 baht added on?? I noticed later in the day that the Aeon machine in Carrefour was 'Out of Service'...... seems like it always is!
  14. Yes, that happened to me in Buriram...... Serves me right thinking, after a week in the boonies, that I could speak Thai! Looked like John Mills in Ryan's Daughter.
  15. One might add intramuscular!
  16. One of the many brothers I struggle to distinguish between.... Stephen Baldwin...
  17. Where there are no hills, cliffs and ravines involved, like from the Airport to Pattaya, I would feel safer in a bus.
  18. Kevin Spacey
  19. We can beat any price... Bit of a catch all phrase like 'best pizza in town'.... Another company makes the effort to keep it's prices down and get you a good deal, then you scoop it off them by knocking a quid off, making little effort yourself. Thereby cutting out the best competition. I would like to see how their prices looked prior to you saying 'I can get it cheaper elsewhere'.... obviously not so good!
  20. Toby Menzies.
  21. There is a dalmation runs around near where I live. Quite obviously a discarded pet being such a pedigree. And therein lies the problem, they seem to get abandoned too much here and frequently become mangy, and possibly feral, a danger to kids and motorcyclists alike.
  22. No I don't, when I say size, I define land area, what do you mean by you? If I wanted to define a country as bigger in population, I would say, population. When I buy shoes, and ask for a bigger size, it does not mean I want 3 of them! As to Ashes series, out of 66. England have won 30, Oz 31, of 33 played in Australia, they have won 14, Oz 17, those played in England (33) England has won 16, Oz 14. Quite even and perhaps why it is regarded with such esteem. We don't win too often in England these days, we are a nation in decline, so we like to revel in the victory. If you knew Australians, and their attitude to sports, you might understand that it is no small feat to defeat them. They certainly over-shadowed Canada in the 2008 olympics, and Great Britain beat them there too. Nitpicking or not, England won the Ashes in great style. Oz will come back stronger.
  23. Nope... but it isn't played every year, for one. (That is what annual means) Nor is population synonymous with 'size'... otherwise some fool would claim England was bigger than Australia.....
  24. Titanic
  25. I never saw him in this...... The Invisible Man
