  1. Sinbad The Sailor.
  2. Mine is charged at 15k plus some small amount in taxes.
  3. Edward G Robinson.
  4. Yes, I remember 'Sue's place' and have also chatted to 'Sue'... I would often swing by there when it was late, I was about done, and had not found suitable companionship for the 'night'.
  5. Nah, I sent her to the fridge...
  6. Have a couple more kids......
  7. Remember. haggle and make an offer. Get some improvemnent like a reduction in deposit. Yes the agent wants his cut but rather than that being 15% it can often be just one month's rent, and the renter is glad of the cash injection coming from advance rent and deposit. For rentals possibly not via agents try the advert boards in Carrefour/ Foodland/ Friendship.
  8. Hmmm, I was having a sundowner with the neighbours and my TGF yesterday and guess what language we talked in...English. My TGF, the only Thai, was obviously left out. She looks a bit bored, not sure if that is because she doesn't grasp the subject of conversation, or as we are all old fogeys, it is just incredibly dull to her.
  9. At first, I would always say rent for a while....... Easier to search for a property and get your head around where/ how much/should I? etc etc. Renting is a good alternative here, easy to pack up and go elsewhere at a month's notice if your savings aren't tied to a concrete block in a falling market.
  10. Titanic................ (old one of course)
  11. How do you know this BigD, I mean it is a while since you were last here? When exactly was it, over a year? You are no longer the 4-5 trips/ year man you used to be. You are correct though...
  12. You are correct... Thais do seem to focus on self and give less consideration to those around.Be it from stopping their vehicle in the middle of the road, parking their motorbike across the footpath where you were just walking, talking on their mobiles, lots and lots of things. But look around, I have seen many such examples from other nationalities too.... try China! So some Thais don't focus on etiquette too much when bringing up their kids, I have seen worse in the UK, where the parents let them run riot in a pub while they get drunk. Manners are a personal thing and you will find the best etiquette amongs some well educated Thais..... those around us here are country bumpkins.
  13. High Noon.
  14. Peggy Sue Got Married.
  15. Yes, installing another brower is pretty straight forward. Pay attention to any questions.Getting the default browser sorted seems to be a bit of messing, but you can import all the favourites easily from IE. I was very pleased with the way Firefox worked after using IE for years.
  16. Damn, I was hoping you wouldn't turn the question back on me.There are places people, who are HIV + and developing AIDs go to in Thailand, a care home. Maybe I would have looked for something like that to 'lock her up in'. But initially, probably I would have taken her to the doc as you did, for immediate treatment. When I was a 'sex tourist' coming to LOS for my vacations from work, I never got that close to them. It ended at the airport, as I knew they moved on to others and it was all fantasy.
  17. My mate (Oz) just said the flights to Bali are so much cheaper, Air Asia and Virgin Blue etc. As you say they like to be amongst their own, and all appear to wear Bintang shirts.
  18. The War Of The Roses.
  19. Jim Carrey.
  20. Get the GF to clean it....... Mine is about the same age but I don't think it costs me so much. I haven't had 20k/year repair bills, (touch wood). And new tyres every year..(lot of mileage)? Nearer 8k/ month I think..... I keep a scooter too so more expense there. Having a house is a big ticket item, always bills, repairs, work to be done.
  21. What exactly am I trying to insinuate here..... ? I am pragmatically trying to figure out what would be the best thing to have done! If she goes back to work for just another month looking unwell and continuously coughing, likely fewer customers than working for another few years rosy cheeked. Barrie most certainly did not know the girl very well, by his admission, he was taken in by her lies. She allowed him to have unprotected sex while knowingly being HIV positive. Palatable or not, isn't this a worthy and important thing... let Barrie answer, I am not attempting to me malicious towards him. Looking at the small picture, on an individual basis, could well be completely wrong. Good, you work with aids, and are aware. It surprises me you think it is advantageous to suppress their illness and send them out into the world to infect others. I don't believe head in the sand is best here..... one has to think out of the box a little. (I sponsor a HIV+ kid here and this has got me thinking......)
  22. No, I think it is in there already, but there is more of a mix of nationalities that can bring it out. If anything if 'abroad' happens to be superior, perhaps better to say less.....
  23. No, according to the doctor her T-cell count was so low she would have died in months. She looked ill too... customers would have been few. Your comment seems uninformed. Due to his help she was able to make a return to near full health and potentially propogate her illness with her reckless and callous behaviour. People are being thrown in jail for doing what she did... ... Barrie... your more recent posting does not answer my question on whether you would do anything differently. Perhaps I am less inclined to donate to papa sick stories though!
  24. I am unsure about all that Dr Barrie.... you yourself said... and also But as I stated, it is quite a drama with no easy answers. And now that you realise that ...what might you have done differently, in hindsight? Truly between the devil and the deep blue sea!Nothing personal Barrie and no grudge here.
