  1. Yes, I mentioned my Thai credit cards above. But my Bangkok Bank ATM, and another overseas ATM card I regularly use do NOT have chips, so presumably work simply on the magnetic strip.
  2. My local cards have chips, they are slotted into a reader, but no PIN is required for purchases, simply a signature. PIN is required for cash advances.
  3. Of course they need a passport. The only places they formerly did not was to cross a land border into Laos or Burma for a day.
  4. Most fishing trips use the Thai style wood boats of various sizes. Moving quiclky is not much of a priority. Boats fish spots at anchor using live bait mostly. The less organised boats may only carry dead squid which limits the options.
  5. There is one close to 2nd Rd, I have always received indifferent Pizza and similar service.
  6. No problems for me a few weeks back, but as mentioned there has been an escalation in security.
  7. The Most Fertile Man in Ireland.
  8. Tuna steak is an oxymoron! That's cat food... get back on the salmon!
  9. The Name of the Rose.
  10. Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves.
  11. Bazooka that Veruca.........!!!!
  12. I think today is it and tonight will be the big last night. You can go anytime during the day to look at the bikes. Get there at sunset and stay until late. Problem will be the traffic!
  13. Surprisingly correct, although when one lives here it looks like a lot of chavs are coming over. I gave a relative a Bad guys go to Pattaya T-shirt and he said everyone in NW UK pubs kept asking him 'what is Pattaya'. I thought the place was infamous.
  14. Sweeney Todd. (The Demon Barber of Fleet St)
  15. From Hell
  16. Harry Potter and the Goblet of fire.
  17. Dressed to Kill
  18. I would rather eat tinned red salmon than watch Villa play. Mmmm, tinned red salmon with plenty vinegar, brown bread thickly buttered, a bit of lettuce and tomato, a pile of such butties on my lap and Dr Who just starting! Wonderful memories.
  19. Sally Kirkland .
  20. I think Thais just call them '7'....
  21. Yes, I had to split into 2 lumps, to meet my bank's limitation, but a few days apart, £40,000.... each time. Not much issue when it arrived either.
  22. I was pretty quick to defend the UK many years ago, when I first started working overseas. These days there hardly seems to be any point after a succession of poor politicians have failed to do so. I can still be pedantic though when I hear my fellow countrymen, or Europeans denigrating the USA. Normally they know little or near nothing of the place, while I have good memories of good people.
  23. I would have felf relief, and proud that the very skilled pilots calmly returned me to the ground, without any of us with as much as a scratch. My work presented more danger.... no wonder you got the shit kicked out of you in Vietnam if they sent over such wooses!
  24. Are you in Bangkok, Pattaya, Korat, Chiangmai, London, .....?
