it depends on the time of year. you can get a very nice room with wifi and a pool for 1000 or less ... you can get a good place with a pool and wifi for as little as 500. you can get ok looking freelancers for 500-700 ST or pretty ones for 800-1000 ST. If you eat in places like the Sailor bar or Pattaya beer garden then you should easily get by on 500 baht for meals for the day .... half that if you eat in Thai places. I like Pattaya but those family tourists can get everything you listed in Hua Hin or Phuket and they will have lovely beaches to swim in. Even if they cleaned up the beach the sand is far too coarse. I was in the Canary Islands 2 years ago for a fortnight and all in costs were cheaper than a flight to LOS .... hookers were available at not much more than what you pay in Pattaya. How quickly you forget how you liked the 1000 baht rooms that I stayed in while on Holiday in Pattaya. Last time I admit that I stayed in a hotel that offered huge rooms, WiFI and a lovely swimming pool complete with a powerful jacuzzi for 500 baht .... in a very central location. Can you tell me what anyone from India or Russia can buy in grand central mall that they cant buy cheaper at home. Pattaya does offer great value rooms but there is no need to pay anymore than 1000 baht, do you sleep better in a room that you pay 2000+ for? I have stayed in a number of 5* hotels over the years

Thanks to the OP and Tom for dissuading me to visit Pattaya again. I used to allow for about a 6000 baht per day spend in Pattaya but I have found out that is possible to have good accomodation, pretty girls, drink and food for less than 2000 baht per day. I am sure all the barowners will thank the OP for highlighting how expensive Pattaya is. Pattaya's future is Russian and Indian families, ..... it is strange that I keep getting sms messages from Thai girls telling me how much they miss me eventhough I only gave them1000 baht per day, I would not consider paying a 1000 baht per day now.

I used Turkisk airlines 3 times and found them excellent. Just because you pay less does not mean you are getting inferior quality or service.

Pattaya beer garden has the cleanest toilets in all of Pattaya. I have yet to find them dirty so well done to the cleaning staff and management there.
