Michael Vick makes a statement on the field!
midlifecrisis replied to zaphodbeeblebrox's topic in Sports Talk
Oh, I don't know if you need to really sit and think it through. Seeing a guy being another guy's bitch - and all the other violence perpetrated by men on men inside - may have enough of a visceral effect to make your mind up for someone without them having much of a thought process! The hard part is disassociating yourself from those you used to hang around with. -
yes, he committed suicide and referred to Costner's character as a knight.

How Great has the Weather been this year?
midlifecrisis replied to Al_Davis's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
I was there recently. It was not so bad as to seriously jeopardize my fun. I agree. Go when you want, adjust as required and know fun is a few feet away and back in your room if you need to hunker down. It could be worse. You could be home with no woman in your bed! -

Vick did his time and I applaud his success and hope he has earned his lesson. I love dogs too. His crime was a difficult one to forgive, for many of us, but he is entitled to a second chance. I will never forget his crime, but to be abandoned by all of society after sentence is complete is a guarantor of worse things in store for both him and the society. I say give him a second chance. We may never forget but we can forgive! Your critique of Vick's play this season is astute. Under Andy Reid he has developed the discipline needed to succeed with his skills. A time in detention did not hu -

My late mother, rest her soul, was like that. If she didn't agree with an actor's politics she couldn't enjoy his/her movies. The only redemption I think she would accept was a switch to the Republican party. Hmmm, maybe that's why she loved Ronald Reagan! It's a good thing for Ed Asner she never met him in person, hehe. -

One great game does not the greatest of the current generation or of all time make. When he wins a few Super Bowls please ask your question again!!!!!!! One great quarter, one great game does not cement a legacy. You might as well ask how inept Washington's defense was and if they are the worst defense in NFL history. And knock of the snide comments to Vick's previous non-football criminal activities. He did his time, he paid for his mistake. -
If I am not mistaken, Maury Chaykin was in this movie. He passed away earlier this year. He was rather young - early to mid 60s I believe. I always enjoyed his acting.

When did Family Mart and 7-11 in Suvarnabhumi
midlifecrisis replied to Odense's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
The trip before last I had brought a quad band unlocked phone (for setting up online banking with KasiKorn). I went to 7-11 near Suk 33 in Bangkok and managed through the lack of language skills on both sides to get a sim card, however, upon arriving back at the hotel, I realized i had no minutes. I went back and although the manager spoke no English and I speak no Thai, she managed to figure out that I needed minutes, told me how many baht to pay, rang up the sale, took the receipt and charged my phone for me. What a doll! I kept all the receipts and 1-2-3 sim card packaging so that o -

Joe, the Red Sox were decimated by injury after injury this season. That is not an indication of the health (no pun intended) of their franchise. They had only two players play over 150 games: http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/stats/sortabl...ts.jsp?c_id=bos They won World Series in 2004 and 2007 and made the ALCS last season. It is about money too but there are teams with money who are not successful here. Big market teams like the Mets and Cubs come to mind and the Dodgers made the playoffs last year and the year before and stunk it up this year (they were favored to win the divis -

What a start to the baseball playoffs!
midlifecrisis replied to midlifecrisis's topic in Sports Talk
The Giant's have been playing like this for over a month. Pitching, good defense and just enough hitting. I think we can take the Braves but the Phils are tough! In August, Lincecum became LinceBUM but he righted the ship and had a fantastic September (and now first playoff performance). -

I didn't realize it until today but the Twins are owned by NY: "...the Twins haven't won against the Yankees -- at least, not nearly enough. In eight seasons under Gardenhire, the Twins' record in the series is 16-50, including 5-27 in New York and 2-9 in the postseason." http://1500espn.com/sportswire/Admit_it_or...ankees_are_real -

I was thinking the same thing earlier about "that's why they play the game" but I disagree about the Yankees. They are getting long in the tooth. I think Twins and Phils but I hope for Giants and Yankees. Yankee ages: http://espn.go.com/mlb/team/roster/_/name/...ew-york-yankees -

I think Texas can beat Tampa but I am not convinced the Yankees can get by the Twins. O say Twins go to the series. In the NL, I have to root for my Giants but I think Philly is the best team in the NL. Did you get a chance to watch the games today?
