  1. If anyone wants to share a taxi to pattaya from the airport on dec 25th around 16:00 hrs let me know,i`ll buy the beers for the journey down. I`ll be arriving on BA7312 which is a code share with QF002.
  2. Tilacno, yes it could well be MSM and not RGP,thanks for correcting me.
  3. Archie,i have read somewhere that there is a pool on the 10th floor of the Roal Garden Plaza they charge a small fee but i seem to remember it getting a favourable report.I will be staying at the Apex who`s pool is not up to much and i will also be looking for an alternative. Can anybody give me information on the RGP pool ?
  4. Roland,it has a large screen T V but i would not class it as a sports bar,it has a very nice and comfortable interior and a few cute service girls, the manager/owner seemed a bit run down the times i was there and not very helpful to say the least. Its a very comfortable place to go and chill out, but do not expect much in the way of excitment. I do not know about the rooms or the sexuality of the guys who frequent them, but i will certainly go back and have a drink or two when i want a hour or two to relax.
  5. Valentinoxxx,or anyone else who knows, could you please tell me where i will find the ATM`s that accepts the Nationwide(VISA) debit card in Bangkok airport.
  6. Saigon, the Apex unlike most do not usually change the rates during high season although they will do specials during quiet periods,i reserved a room on june 18th and have an email confirmation from K Somat the manager quoting 500baht/night for december/january. I would imagine they are very nearly booked up by now for this period,so perhaps they are starting to adopt the economic rule of demand and supply. Have you tried the Pig and whistle maybe 100/200 baht more but its money well spent.
  7. Depart 18 june-15 aug,return within 1 month. The £379 includes tax.
  8. I am flying BA LON-BKK and QANTAS BKK-LON the ticket has been issued by qantas and i bought them from airline warehouse,on the tickets james travel, birmingham, is printed. The ticket looks very amateurish and it has class k printed on it which i have not heard of,the ticket just gives me an uneasy feel, any advice, cheshire tom.
  9. If you are planning to go to the LOS over christmas and want a direct flight you can save in the region of £300 by flying on christmas eve opposed to the 10 days preceding. The price with airline warehouse for QANTAS flying 23/12-6/1 is £894 inc tax but flying24/12-7/1 it is £559inc tax, also you have the option of a BA flight for the return leg of your journey. I booked 2 weeks ago and got a BA flight out with a qantas flight back for £559 inc tax If you do not mind missing christmas morning(you arrive 16:10) in Thailand or work up and until christmas eve like i do i think it is
  10. On point 5 above you will save time if you go upstairs to departures and jump in one of the taxis dropping someone off rather than wait in the queue downstairs,i do not think they are officially allowed to pick up but they always will, when have you seen a thai taxi driver turn down a fare?just remember to barter the fare before you jump in. I paid 1200 baht inc tolls in Dec which seemed ok.
  11. Turbo, Thanks, a clear and concise answer, and with a little bit of extra info thrown in, just the thing that makes this board so good.I owe you a few beers.
  12. I am flying LON-BKK with BA and BKK-LON QANTAS at christmas, these flights were booked as one return flight since BA/QANTAS codeshare. Do i need to register with 2 seperate frequent flier progs and have the miles split or is there an option to have the entire amount of miles credited to one programme? Can i pre book my seat (row,#) if i am a member of the frequent flier club? Thanks, chris.
  13. Highlander,I travelled with KLM Cardiff-Amsterdam-Bangkok rtn last year 26 nov-9 dec I did a lot of searching on the net but still found my local travel agent The Travel House 01792641148 the cheapest flying from Cardiff, they have been mentioned on this site a couple of times in the past. I also like to fly KLM being a flying dutchman member and the connections and take off times suit me. I paid £501 inc tax.
  14. Dave what type of deal did you get for dec/jan flights?
  15. I was flying out of Bangkok on the 9 dec with KLM (good flight) and noiced the 0420 flight with Garuda was delayed and the expected departure time was 2300.I boarded at 2300 and the garuda passangers were still in the departure lounge, god only knows what time it finally left. I considered flying Garuda on that flight I think I had a lucky escape. This could well be a 1 off and I would not like to be unfair to a airline who are currently having a hard time.
  16. Hubster ,sorry for the late reply.I thought I had replied to your above post. Although i have posted on the nanaplaza site it was under a different username. No doubt we will meet in the FLB and i look forward to having a few drinks with you and other board members it looks like there will be a lot of us there at the same time.
  17. Due to arrive on the 26/11 at 12:20 on the KLM flight KL877, anyone on that flight or around that time wishing to share a thai limo down to pattaya, i`ll be happy for the company.
  18. A little off topic but worth remembering is not being talked into buying insurance from the travel agent with your flight, but from a insurance specialist. These are 50%-60% cheaper than the travel agents, one of the best about in the UK is www.direct-travel.co.uk they quote£23.50 for 2 weeks in Thailand. The 12 month multi trip policy is very good also.
  19. Gerald it may be worth you looking at www.dialaflight.com it offers the same flight 2/10-14/10 with garuda for £408 inc tax it also quotes air lanka £402 turkish £404 but to be honest if they were 1/2 this price i would`nt touch either.Other good deals they have are Crossair £452 Gulf £457. I hope this is of help to you.
