Pattaya mad, if you walk north past the Apex hotel on 2nd road then turn right up soi honey inn it is 30 yards on your right. Stayed there over christmas and the new year, great location and a nice but small pool on the 3rd floor. Great value for money and everthing runs very smoothly, good value restaurant on ground floor, directly opposite the main entrance is Uncle Charlies which serves the best steak in pattaya.

The rooms at the baybreeze have a bath, although they are not that big.

The £374 with Thai made me book a unscheduled (sp?) and fu*& work trip in june, now i am tempted with Etihad`s offer to come in feb/march also. . Paid £650 with QANTAS in 1991, and £490 aeroflot in 1989 so the current prices are just to good to pass up.

1 year worldwide insurance policy with Direct travei £66. That includes excess waiver, but no winter sport cover.

Taltos, SAFA is airline failure insurance and the postal costs are the costs to post the tickets which is pretty obvious I would have thought. Why would you think I am the wrong person to ask since i posted the reply ?

No problem sinbinjack. I only knew because I have also booked for myself and a mate for june 4th-18th. If you find yourself down soi 6 way PM closer the time and well have a few beers.

sinbinjack`s fare with West end travel is also £374 but when you add SAFA and postal costs it ends £384 fully inc . Opodo and airlne-network will also add these to the £374 fare if you proceed to the payment stage of booking.

Orientaltaffy, I have already joined the Thai frequent flyers club, Whenever I book a flight with a airline that I have not flown with before the 1st thing I do is join there FF`s club, it got me a free upgrade to bussiness class last year with Qantas. I have been told that thai are in the process of adding personal screens for the IFE to the 747/400`s that fly out of London, I just hope they complete this by the time I fly. Do you know if I can reserve my seat position on-line prior to check in. Thanks, Chris.

Pattayahappy, thats very helpful, thank you.

Booked the Thai airways flight with Travelbag a few days back, was not planning to go but the price was just to tempting, £384.20 with postal costs etc. Apart from it being a non stop flight the flight times are superb. LON 12:30 -06:05 BKK BKK 01:10 - 07:15 LON Any views(legroom, food, etc) on Thai airways would be appreciated.

Due to arrive @ 09:30 on the 25th dec on the gulf air flight. If any of you will be heading down to Pattaya from the airport around this time and want to share a taxi let me know.

Papa, I like to stay a short stroll away from the main action areas and not dirctly in them. The only trouble is crossing 2nd road and thats from somebody who is relatively fit and fast on foot. Uncle Charlies and the massage places ting tong and livermore recommend will save me a few scary crossings. Ting tong, could you tell me if the position of the pool in the bay breeze allows it to get a lot of sunlight and is it usually busy? Cheers.
-
livermore, ting tong, thanks a lot for passing on your knowledge of the place. Will definitely try out Kims massage and the one livermore finds good. I`ve been told to give Uncle Charlies a try by my mate, can not remember what he told me, think it was something to do with a special menu on tuesdays and thursdays. Cheers.

I`ve reserved a room at 700bt/night plus 200baht surcharge for the 3 days over the new year. My mate stayed there 6 weeks back and was very happy with it. Any views/tips on the bay breeze would be appreciated I turned up at the Apex on christmas day last year about 7pm having reserved a room 6 months prior, only to be told that they were over booked.

torrenova, I have only just seen your post, the prices are far less than any travel agents are offering, just a shame I have already booked with Gulf ended up paying £635 inc taxes flying out 24th dec, returning 8th jan.
-
jnr, thanks but i have already booked with Gulf now. KLM would normally be my next choice after BA and QANTAS since the times are so good, and there is only a couple of hours stop over in Amsterdam which is a superb airport.
-
Cheers Tom, after I posted I did a search for flight reviews ,comments, ratings etc, within 1 hour I realised what a stupid question this was, I would still like to hear any views on Bahrain airport though.

I`ve left booking a flight for the christmas period a little late this year usually fly Qantas or BA but the prices they are asking are a bit high now, I only wish I had grabbed a return seat with one of these in early may for £650. Anyway I am now in the position of having to decide to fly Gulf or Kuwait airlines, not much in the price so that does not come into it and both have similar landing times, one of the reasons I have decided between these 2 is because of the mid morning landing oppossed to the late afternoon/evening landings most other airlines have into Bangkok. I have ne

Mr Tench, is that through the thai airways site or one of the travel agent sites, if the latter which one did you reserve a seat with?

Stiffler where did you get the ticket with the national express ticket thrown in, the cheapest i can get for eva air around those dates is £455 plus the £35 coach ticket,so the £475 all in sounds good. Orientaltaffy does the mandy you recommend work in one of the swansea shops, if so which one or in a the call centre. i got back 2 days ago :'( and must get back quick.

Direct Travel Insurance offers a worldwide multi trip policy for £51 and you can pay £15 extra for excess waiver, this policy excludes winter sports cover but it includes north american travel.I very much doubt if there is a better deal about.
