What? No more money up front? What's Skytop coming to? Before you know it, one will not have to sign their "legl agreement" to stay there either! Let's face it people, Denny is not going to get off his statement that "Skytop is good value for the money" - even if, as has been shown, it is not with the comparisons made. The pictures prove it for any semi-intelligent person!

Denny: If it is good value for you, all well and good. It is obvious you are not going to change your viewpoint. But, one only has to look at the comparison photos to the the VAST world of difference between Skytops and Seaside for a room that costs 850 baht. IMO, Mulphy's Rockhouse is a better value too at the same price, if one wanted to be on that side of 2nd Rd. Again, compare the pictures of the rooms. And, neither of those places force you to sign a "legl contract" to stay at their facility. It is also my opinion that you are doing a disservice to FLB board members, especially Newbies, to constantly recommend Skytops.

I've not stayed at Denny's friend guest house/hotel , but have seen the picture of the room with see thru windows curtains at the lower portion, and no covering of window at the top at all. And, the bathroom where there is no direct light for shaving, etc., and the wall stops before it reaches and joins the ceilling. So, my question is why should board members who have stayed at this place, and had to sign the "Stay Agreement" which I've never heard off or seen at any other hotel/guest house, not be able to come on the board and voice their disagreement with Denny for being a champion of this place that his friend owns and that he stays at. It was pointed out on the long running bigdusa topic, that they is better value for the same amount of money. It was very easy to see those differences in the websites that were provided. IMO it is a mistake for Denny to keep on recommending Skytops on this board and to the attention of Newbies, as there is obviously other places that provide better value. As long as he does, they will be those who counter his claims.

My understanding of the new Secrets BF pricing. 449 baht for Hostesses. 999 baht for Coyotee, before 12 Midnite, then 599 baht after midnite. So, they drop one satang on the Coyotee's, but go up 49 baht on the Hostesses. In essence, they have raised Hostess BF by 50 baht.

Jacko: Have you had experience with an Exchange booth, or do you know of anyone that has? So far, no answer to my question. And, as I often exchange $500/$1000 USA for Baht at exchange booths, the majority of the notes are 1000 baht. Anyone asked for and just received 500 baht notes while exchanging a lot of TC's? I sure as hell don't want a pocket full of fake 1000 baht notes!

Good idea! I use TC's and cash them at exchange booths. I usually go for 500 USA at a time, and have even done 1000 USA AMEX TC's. So, what advice as how to avoid the bogus 1000 baht notes? You wouldn't think so, but????? And, if more and more businesses are not accepting 1000 baht notes, can you demand, and will exchange booths give you 500 baht notes with no problem, no hassle? Who has had recent experience at exchange booths?

Thanks for the prompt answer! Toliet/Shower. Shower curtains should hopefully do the trick, if they are of good quality and totally go to the floor? I just don't like the idea of having an all encompassing wet bahtroom floor as I am in and out while using all facilities of same. Don't want to be tracking water all over the other floor and slipping on wet bathroom floor while shaving!
