The joke he made was to an air marshal who accosted him on the flight, at the lav. According to the Denver Post and numerous other Denver media anyhow. But look, by all means, joke around all you want. It's your freedom. .

Hi, jack. You don't make jokes to armed officers about airline security and get away with it. If you ALSO don't know that, you and the Qatari guy must be the last two, worldwide. And now you both know, too. For one thing, airline security is already a joke. .

It's my firm belief that all expats should live abroad. .

I didn't want to comment without full evidence. You are a poofter. Your claim to lingering heterosexual tendencies is quickly dismissed, since almost every OTHER woman I know also likes women's tennis for pretty much the same reasons as you -- the fashion, the flaunting, the subdued but obvious sexuality. .

Well, bratpack, you may have been right, and the men won. .

Geez, that's one to remember. What a fabulous, energetic and close game right down to the final four seconds. Absolutely riveting and well done to both teams. .

I'd bet a tiny amount it won't be. After watching Duke simply dismember the boys from the mountains, I can't see it being another buzzer-beater overtime game, or too close at all. Vegas online advisory Sunday morning US time has Duke by seven. Over-under has been set at 129.5 which doesn't seem a lot?? Of course that (as the philosopher Christopher Berman stated) is why they play the game. .

Very very timely. I've actually done the auto-correct one. It was even more hilarious than you describe. .

Some good stuff there. I'll probably steal four, maybe six. But take this one out.... ... and substitute: What would happen if you half-killed yourself, twice? Yeah, I get the 44 jokes, really I do, including the few I'd never seen before, and I grasp No 4 fine too and smiled, even. But man didn't evolve from monkeys and apes, they just had a common ancestor. .

U Tapao Airport is to have a big revamp
joekicker replied to Affinity One's topic in Transport in Thailand
Unfortunately, I can. I used to not be able to imagine a Thai aircraft carrier, so now I can imagine almost anything. It's almost certain there will be Thai submarines, and sooner than later I'm afraid. Luckily there are still a few hurdles. Unluckily, there's a damn good chance they'll be leapt over. I was serious - they'll probably really, actually get subs before permission to upgrade the airbase. . -
U Tapao Airport is to have a big revamp
joekicker replied to Affinity One's topic in Transport in Thailand
Note that U Tapao is a naval air BASE and is not an airPORT. It is not under direct control of the government or even the state company Airports of Thailand Plc. As you say, this story has been in the papers for years, planted by civil servants, contractors and Navy brass who stand to make a lot. But I don't believe for a second these alleged "plans" have been accelerated. The Navy will get submarines before it gets much of an update to the airbase. And as you also state, it will never compete with, and never be allowed to compete with Suvaranabhumi, not to mention Don Muang. . -
9 Years Of Live Music At The Blues Factory!

Dave, Congrats on the anniversary, it sure doesn't seem that long. . -
As I say, it was very forgettable all around. This is what I recall, quickly: They were on Bang Na-Trat, the north side service road, just west of Central Bang Na - around Soi 29 I think, but don't hold me to that, it could have been a little further west. That would, oh, very roughly the late 1980s and again I'm working from a memory that has been trying to forget that place. My wife and I both wondered how you could eff up seafood in Bangkok that badly. I'd bet it was a very poorly run franchise, too, with little supervision from the big boys -- like that Carl's Jr that was open so very briefly in Seacon. .

On the contrary, I disagree with you that the upstart and uppity colonials don't have British fish and. I actually LIKE British-style fish-and once in a while, so long as it's without the pees. But I prefer a little less, er, slipperyness, especially with the fish. I agree that Mr Heineke's steak restaurant has one of the best fish fries around, no doubt about it. I do believe on the other hand that the Brits absolutely use the right kind of fish. Chips, French fries, freedom fries or whatever you call them - I think they're a personal call. I like big ones with skin. Others don't, what can I say other than they're totally wrong? They had a Long John Silver's in Bangkok that I ate at once. Apparently a few other people did, too, because it was gone in less than a year. .
-
There's no pees! .
-
Fair enough. I don't photograph food, actually. However yours don't pass the jacko test - no pees. (I can't bring myself to call that "thing" peas.) .

Yeah, and what with the closed borders and absolutely no immigration or foreign-owned businesses allowed.... This took me almost 30 seconds counting Google and the blasted "manage current attachments" thingmy. It's in a small town in Colorado state. There might be one or two others, you think? Yeah, you're probably right, really.... not a CHANCE there would be British fish and chips in the US. They're such provincials, those old colonials. No foreign contact at all. .

Your post got cut off here. How many Thais reside in Pattaya -- "reside" as in the foreigners (like you) who have chosen to reside there, as opposed to those who come for the job and have no intention of actually establishing residence there or registering Pattaya on their ID cards as their primary residence? I bet without looking that not 5 per cent of the Thais in Pattaya reside in Pattaya. Heck, I'd even make a smaller side wager that the MAYOR doesn't reside in Pattaya. So what's the actual figure? Either way, though, I'd argue that it's not "a bit strange". It's either right or it's wrong. .

I really apologise. I was under the assumption that everyone reading this forum was familiar with 21st century English, including the part that language evolves. My bad. These days, seeker, a "ghetto" isn't in Italy necessarily. It is somewhere, anywhere in the world, that "like" people choose to live in order to be other "like" people. The only perjorative of the word is that a ghetto these days is an "exclusive" place where outsiders aren't wanted. I hope this helps. Now I'm on jacko's side again. Bet you can't name one such place. .
-
I've probably lived in Thailand longest of anyone here, but I can't imagine living in Pattaya. I love the sleaze - for a short time. Plus, it really is primarily a white ghetto and it's very, very difficult NOT to live in that ghetto. Not very many Thais live in Pattaya, or want to. I'm with them. I can't imagine I'll die anywhere but Thailand despite some lengthy absences the past few years, but I'll only die in Pattaya totally by chance during a short visit, not by choice in my residence. .

Interesting about AdBlock. I'll have to try the site with Firefox, I use a different browser for this work, and haven't noticed an Adblock problem on the sites I use Firefox for. Which reminds me, AdBlock now is available for Google Chrome browser, too. . -

The Pattaya Daily News home page, when I view it, has an awful lot of links. The home page IS the latest news collection, then you click on a story that interests you, -- usually a blue headline. -
Airbus and Boeing products running behind schedule
joekicker replied to BigDUSA's topic in Idle Chit Chat
Heh. France threatens (somebody). That really sets the whole world quaking in fear. That's as fear-inspiring as the IMF chief claiming that the whole world economy will collapse unless there is coordinated action. The French? What are they doing to do, refuse to export any more Camembert cheese? Declare a Year of Impoliteness in Paris? .
