  1. I always do. I wouldn't say the BEST two teams got in, but these teams have earned the trip for sure. I'd say that Philadelphia is coming off very competitive series, while Chicago had it relatively easier. But I'm not sure what that equates, so I'll be happy just to let the chips fall. .
  2. Philadelphia just scary-dominant as they apparently see off Moray Awl. They are really on a roll, and very dominating. .
  3. The old Chicago Stadium was one of the noisiest and ... well, best place to watch a game, seats almost vertical, on top of each other. United has carried on that tradition of noise and excitement. For all that, Chicago is a lousy hockey town, but there are seriously committed fans. .
  4. What's with that limp-wristed, Englishesque singing in your rink? .
  5. Well, San Jose never did recover from that Game 4 in Detroit. They were pathetic. Chicago definitely, against Philly 99.8 per cent. Who would have picked that? .
  6. At least he understood you enough to tell you that. And you, him. .
  7. Les Habs gave it a very good shot this morning, looked quite good. But they certainly were not dominant or clearly better. Good game, but I still wouldn't put more than a coin against the Flyers. .
  8. Oh fer chrighsake, haven't you heard of global warming? Idiot! .
  9. Thanks. But you never know, the Sharks could rebound and win three games in Chicago. Of course they COULD play next year's final on an outdoor rink in Bangkok, too, almost as likely. .
  10. Brilliant analysis, Joe. You sure were right. .
  11. 3-0 in the third period, Game 2. This series may not be a sweep, because Moray Awl still has some flashes, but Philly is by far the superior team and you'd be crazy to bet against them going to the final, no matter the odds. Now. Let's see if the Sharks left it all at the Joe in Game 4. I think they did. They'll prove me right or wrong in a few hours. .
  12. They certainly could dictate when they are shown on TV, though, like at 10am, noon and 2pm, three days after the matches were played. Repeat "could". .
  13. It may be a scam, but it's definitely legal. Thai and international law both, you have to buy a special licence to show live stuff in a bar. In the US, bars have to buy very special packages, not just a subscription. Chang owns the World Cup, Chang makes the rules who can watch it. They have a mind to, they can make it quite uncomfortable for those who don't follow their rules. Nice little bar you've got here. Be a shame if anything happened to the TV sets. .
  14. I'm very easily confused on this stuff, but apparently not. I have HD service from Comcast in the US, and you can not see a thing on regular TVs when you turn them to the HD channel. Here's the TrueVisions pitch which has a list of what True says you need: in sum, the True delivery, the True-provided receiver, and a fully HD-capable TV. http://www.truevisionstv.com/minipage.aspx...e=52&mode=3 .
  15. Same thing later. Speed - Philly's got the wind blowing their hair, Montreal doesn't. They'll blame Halak but Moray Awls were literally falling down trying to get back on every Philly attack, the whole time. .
  16. Yeah. There will be a lot of seats filling up very, very soon from Yurp and from the Yuse, because Thai students will be heading home. But I believe an actual tourist or business person might be able to make a reservation on his day of choice, though. .
  17. My strong opinion is the US advertising industry should fire everyone they have, and import whole Thai agencies and start producing good, watchable commercials. Not every commercial is good, but every good commercial is Thai compared with US ones. There are also some excellent European ones. The Thais consistently walk away with half the really big awards at international award ceremonies for commercial excellence. The US companies typically gets "best fade to black" and "best use of an American-football endorsement" as encouragement to keep trying. Also horror movies. Thai ones are really, really scary, US ones suck. .
  18. They're even on the season. Montreal actually beat Boston on the season. Two interesting facts from the Montreal Journal. One is, seems they are taking this seriously, this hockey thingmy bumping the sexy saga of three dead girls to the sidebar with NINE count them 9 pages on the series inside. The second thing is that it's $1.1. in Canadian money in Moray Awl and $2.36 in Florida in American coin. Vic, in English it says: "The Habs will have to protect Halak" and "(they will) play hard" or more colloquially, "it's going to be a tough game" .
  19. Make it Canadi*E*ns, Vic. Lots of them aren't Canadians anyhow. Not bad for a backup who wanted out of Montreal. Definitely the best of the playoffs, not just saves My guess is he'll be making quite a bit of money next year, even though the Brits will rule that he doesn't deserve it. .
  20. Gee ZEUS! The SEVENTH really watchable, entertaining game in a row from these guys. Boston goes up 3-0 and now it's 3-3 middle of the second period. Talk about your end-to-end hockey. Philly has had the edge from the start but Boston really is playing hard. .
  21. Well... they don't have to play Game 7. But they were always going to play Game 1 on Tuesday of next week. The other Game 1 is Sunday night/Monday at 2am. The Reading Royals were up 3-0 on Cincinnati in the ECHL. The Royals are a Boston farm team (and Leafs). The Royals are playing golf today while Cincinnati plays Idaho for the Kelly Cup. Message in there for big-Daddy Bruins? Hmmm. (Cyclones are tied to the Canadiens and Nashville.) I said from Game 1 that Boston-Philly was the most entertaining quarter-final, and it sure was. Game 7, Philly has the edge for a lot of reasons. .
  22. Sure beats "Gosh Save the Kink"! I almost added "by a mile" but it's way, way more than a mile. .
  23. 5-2 and it's all over (surely). The Pens can start calling for tee times. The best team won, best in everything, from start to now nine and a half to go. Penguins simply didn't want it, got outplayed and outhustled and outthought and out-achieved. .
  24. All of the Above is correct. By your description, yet another reason to think this was a terrible film. I never got that far in that horrible movie, but there isn't such "a leaf" or magic cooler in real life. For Thais, it's rice first and foremost, pineapple or cucumber, but any leaves or raw veggie that are nearby like basil, mint, pak chee farang, cabbage, long beans, lettuce.... These are more or less commonly on a table during a meal. .
  25. 10 seconds in, Sid gets the dumbest boarding penalty in the history of hockey, right at centre ice in front of the ref, causing NO damage to the guy he boarded, who actually looks bemused as he gets up and skates away unharmed. 12 seconds later, a sleepy Fleury watches a backhand go in under his arm. And it's on a delayed SECOND penalty call to the Penguins at that. That is unprepared. Really bad. Good for Moray Awl to come out skating hard and taking advantage of Pittsburgh. .
