  1. Have you seen North American women's hockey at all? A female goalie has already played big-time hockey. More PR than anything, but she played a couple of years in the division below the NHL. I just came back to correct my post above. It is CANADA who have to get past the Slovaks in the next few hours, which they should, and go on to face the US in a very anticipated final. Sorry for the mistyping. .
  2. Supposed to start at 0315 on Monday. Sunday afternoon in Vancouver according to the website. I accidentally started to watch the women's final. Those girls can flat play hockey!! I would not be surprised to see a female in the NHL, I was very impressed. I think the US takes the men's gold, though. Canada has the usual problem - too many good players makes a great All-Star team and a lousy team-team. The Russians had a GREAT team, went out in the quarter finals (to the US at that). As I write, the US still have to beat the Slovaks, but I think that will happen and the US-Canada replay sure would be great for ratings in both countries. .
  3. Gizmodo is good, but this is pretty over-hyped here. It's just a collection of "privacy statements" from all the Microsoft services. They retain Hotmail registration details forever. Well, duh! You can't be anonymous AND play on the Net. One or the other, not both. In a way, Microsoft and Google and LittleBitty.com publishing their privacy details is a Good Thing, since they're going to do what they do anyhow. .
  4. Not the first time. I wonder if this is a glitch of the board software, that posts are being posted on the wrong board by the main server handling this software. There was one from a guy in Canada going to a football game in Texas, and other one looking for a hotel in Mexico that I recall. The times I remember, all of the misplaced posts were original, thread-starting posts. I don't read by forum, but probably all in the Open forum?? .
  5. Yeah, it's a real drawback, and a lot of people don't come here because of the lack of pictures. We're always hoping the moderator will fix that because it'd nice to see photos of temples, steakhouses and such, and not just read about them. .
  6. If you do it all day, there's software you can learn. If you want to grab a video now and then then go to Keepvid.com - punch in the YouTube link and sit back. You can choose the format to convert it to on the fly as well. .
  7. Like most places, you'll clear customs in the first place you land in Thailand. Yes, THAI flies from the new airport. Bangkok Airways flies to U Tapao (Pattaya). .
  8. First sentence - no! Second and the rest of it, yes -- that is pretty much what *I* wrote, also, and I'm quite convinced we pretty much agree here. What I said was that being baffled does not lead directly to "therefore" and I gave the aliens-in-space available. UFOs lead to the QUESTION of "what the eff was that, let's try to find out," and in NO WAY does a UFO mean "therefore they must be aliens from space" any more than the baffling question of why all Thai women scour Teflon pans with steel wool leads to a conclusion about aliens. Being baffled is not a lead to a breakthrough. The fact science or laymen are baffled doesn't lead to a conclusion. It leads (one hopes) to an investigation which may, or may not lead to one, seven or eleventeen conclusions -- note "may not". It may simply be unanswerable for now. The science, the mechanics, the timeline of 9/11 is not baffling at all. It really isn't arguable. There are no holes. But sure, there are parts of it which can raise questions if you want, such as the face of the actual devil in a real photo of the actual smoke. If that raises questions for you, knock yourself out. Anyone who says "the following fact (such-and-such) baffles me and I can't explain it AND THEREFORE the US government did it" is deranged, but solely because he says "and therefore". Questions and questioning and being baffled good; leaping over explanations in order to reach conclusions bad. I don't think there's a 9/11 question unanswered, I'd be amazed if anyone could come up with one. But if he does, he deserves room to investigate of course. .
  9. Agreed! Those are incredibly good and provocative pictures, and thanks Mr Freak for taking the time and trouble for spreading them. I've seen a couple on wallpaper sites, but that is a heck of a collection. .
  10. Sigh. Several people being baffled is proof of their being baffled, and nothing else. NOW you sound like this: I saw something in the sky last night. Several scientists are baffled about its origins, and therefore it is likely an alien space ship from outer space -- or at least, since I'm so open-minded and non-scientific that I can only state that this is the main possibility. People being baffled doesn't lead to a "therefore", sorry. I'm kind of baffled why you would think it does, frankly. That's a pretty big "if" there, my man. But I asked you first. .
  11. Anyone who says there are unanswered questions is lying -- probably to himself but certainly to me. One of the single best explanation series was by Popular Mechanics. But there are hundreds. There's not a conspiracy theory that holds water but more important - there isn't one that hasn't been debunked in excruciating, scientific detail which in turn, has NOT been debunked. All this stuff is falsifiable. The false stuff has been falsified. Oh, except for the part about the face of the devil appearing in the smoke from the fires. That's ture of course. How do you know this, if you don't know how many steel structured buildings have collapsed? The way you put it, it's simply a random fact, like "no one with more than 2,000 Pattaya Talk posts has ever won the grand prize in the Thai lottery". So what? But let's say you're right for the sake of ridiculousness. How many buildings hit by Boeing/Airbus-type passenger jets failed to collapse? Frankly, so far, you sound a smidgen like the dimwit who told a national US TV audience that "everyone knows steel doesn't melt" -- where by "everyone" she meant herself and a couple of Troofer friends of course. And here's the hilarious kicker for this stoopido - the steel in the twin towers didn't melt either, or very damn little of it anyhow. That reminds me, I was meaning to ask you. Is Barack Obama a native-born American? I mean, hell, is he an American at all? .
  12. Why was that necessary or informative? .

And then another 300 words that ARE worth the effort. Look. You can withdraw the false accusations you made about me which I have vigorously denied - or not. All your lengthy posturing and BS-nonsense woe-is-me I-hate-myself-in-the-morning-for-posting aside - just man up. At the start, you probably just got confused, addled, made false accusations and you were mistaken. Now you are supporting deliberate, scurrilous lies. Don't do that. .
  14. Nah, you go ahead and do it for us. Oh, you already have. Do you watch it every day? Not quite. What's the ratio of Troofers who can/can't find Alaska on a map? Also, does the provided map actually include Alaska or is it a Pattaya Walking Street bar map? .
  15. Are you threatening the bakerman? Right here in the open? Nah of course not. But hey! Any good stuff on what's happened to the Troofers who have stood up and exposed Doubleyew Chimpley and the US government's role in this? Any at all? Or have they managed to keep the revenge assassinations and censorship secret? .
  16. Unless you want to, you won't. Just out of curiosity, a question that I haven't the foggiest what's the answer: how may steel structures have collapsed? .
  17. Indeed. But you posted a link to a video explaining that Bush conspired in those events. Was that a joke on your part? .
  18. There aren't any proofreaders to speak of at maybe half a dozen newspapers worldwide. Not to be pedantic.... well, okay to be pedantic, none of the above should be caught by proofreaders, but by sub-editors, aka copy editors. They write those headlines and they and their co-editors are supposed to catch that sort of funny stuff. A proofreaders' job is pretty much catching typos, and while humans are infinitely better than computers at it, the computers do it all these days. .
  19. Please tell me this is your joke of the week! .

You accused me of vastly editing and removing material in my posts, which didn't happen. When I told you it didn't happen, instead of owning up and admitting your accusation was total spit and you were mistaken, you removed the accusation. You couldn't, of course, remove the now-weird but forthright denial of your vile, false accusation. THEN you wrote all the personal-attack, mind-reading guff all over again anyhow. But this time you were careful not to address or own up to the totally false accusation you made that I removed vast amounts of material from my post(s) which, I repeat, was false the first time you made it, and now is appearing to have been a deliberate lie, and it appears that way because you haven't the (something-something) to simply man up to it and admit a simple mistake, which I would have believed but now I don't. You may think it's clever to let everyone read that accusing post and then remove it and try to appear innocent. You may think that. .
  21. Watch your mouth there bakerman. "President" is a racist word. It's like "professor" only MUCH stronger. (If you don't get it, Google it.) .
  22. Take your glasses off. If you can't see them, they aren't there. First thing I'd do, compressed air and blow them out, and hopefully the crumbs or whatever they're in they're for. Next thing, if no joy, remove the machine somewhere else for a few days, meanwhile doing one hell of a scrubdown on and around the computing area. .

Where is all that stuff about editing and beautifying my posts? Seems you edited and removed self-damaging material in YOUR posts to remove embarrassing material, eh? Not a shred of embarrassment, though, not a sign of admitting you were totally wrong in your accusations. That's okay. There's no obligation here to be truthful. You should always do what you think is the right thing, and we'll note what that is. .

There are standard textbooks in Saudi Arabia and there are very, very popular media in some Palestinian areas that do dissimenate this stuff. Yes it's isolated, but so are the Japanese textbooks that teach the glories of colonisation under Japan's beneficent emperor and the strong benefits that the workers on the Kanchanaburi railway received from the generous Japanese benefactors. Ignoring the times it happens because, "oh, it's not everywhere" is just about equal to putting a play for children on TV extolling the glories of children suicide bombers, and almost equal to bigots who slam "the Muslims" because a show was on once. Once is WAY too many times. I'm not a zero-tolerance person. I'm a person who calls out these alleged "people" when they eff up and I am an equal-opportunity caller-outer. I *actually* favour these people putting on these shows and writing these textbooks SO THAT we can out them. It's way more effective than calling in the police to beat and shoot them and make them martyrs. Name, shame and humilate them, and by "them" I mean all of the extremists, every one of them. No Saudi or Palestinian or British or Pattaya Talk community is going to favour these extremists. So call them out and ridicule them. .

    1. You think too mutt. WAY too mutt. 2. No paragraphs have been removed anywhere by me. It didn't happen. Period. 3. I think, but can't be bothered looking because I really don't give a spit about your "accusations", that you have two, possibly three different threads muxed ip because.... 4. See Number 1. .
