  1. Consider the Penthouse Hotel (http://penthousehotel.com/index_1.html) Boyztown is just across the soi (street) Located on Soi 13/4, the hotel is also very near Walking Street, which is Pattaya's main attraction Kitten / Obsessions "combo girl + LB" gogo bar is located next to the Penthouse Hotel and share the same owner. http://www.sukhumvit-psycho.com/2009/11/kitten-niteclub-pattaya-pattaya-obsessions-the-all-in-one-gogo-bars/ http://www.pattayaobsessions.com/ is an LB bar
  2. "Don't quit your day job" means don't quit your job to try making it as a comedian. Btw, I still don't get it. What does the joke/story have to to do with pantomime? Answer: Nothing. And Paps is correct: it is a crap joke.
  3. I still don't get it. All I can say is, don't quit your day job yet.
  4. My opinion of Skyfall: A big yawn Pros: 1) Excellent opening montage and song (by Adele) 2) Very high production values (i.e., money was no object). Cons: If you're aware you're watching a movie - while you're watching a movie... well, that's not good. That means you're not "invested" in the movie. As posted previously, the movie feels very contrived. For example, the babes in the movie are there solely because they're babes. They serve absolutely no other purpose such as, moving the story line along. There's one sex scene that's so brief, unexpected, and shot in deep shadow th
  5. cherrybar.biz needs to be upated Btw, is the "Cherry Bar Too" still in operation?
  6. Andre Braugher also did a mini-series called, "Thief", that was impressive.
  7. Absolutely. There's sort of a Hippie circuit running from San Francisco to Santa Cruz to points North (Humboldt county - a major marijuana growing area). Maybe a few other places. Yeah, Hippies ("Love, Peace, Bro") are still around. Your video demonstrates it. On the plus side, though, Santa Cruz is a pretty safe place (unlike San Francisco). Our panhandlers are polite (unlike San Francisco).
  8. Re: lovedog's Post #30 ("This i the dumbest person ever") I live in Santa Cruz. Now you know why I prefer Thailand.
  9. Or as MrMango succinctly said: A tit holder
  10. Go to Nong Nooch or other zoos, and you can often pose with a Lion, Bear, Crocodile (crocs are never tame), or whatever. Personally, I've always been hesitant about doing so. Why? While that lion may be old and toothless, its overall size makes me think that if the animal ever became angry or frightened, a single swipe of its paws could do me in. Is my concern overblown? Sure, 99% of the time. But it's that last 1% I focus on, as mentioned below http://gma.yahoo.com/blogs/abc-blogs/cheetah-mauls-woman-60th-birthday-trip-133156169--abc-news-topstories.html
  11. Post #27, Photo #095 Rolling Stones' "Can't You Hear Me Knocking" Yeah, you got satin shoes Yeah, you got plastic boots Y'all got cocaine eyes Yeah, you got speed-freak jive
  12. Billions, Your pictures are outstanding. The colors, composition, and overall interest are at a professional level (Btw, are you pro photographer?) Ever thought about making a Coffee Table Art book?
  13. You're coming in May? Bummer! That's when all the hotties return to their village. But fear not: all ladies aged 40 (and above) volunteer to step into the breach. (BigDUSA loves coming in May because he's a Cheap Charley and so is in heaven - but that's a whole different thread...)
  14. The last line (in bold) is a factor that makes me leery of the Thai property market. The foreign-owned property market strikes me as artificial. Perhaps okay to buy to occupy, but certainly not an investment. Scenario: You decide to sell your unit. The only buyers interested are Thai, and they can buy same quality condos at a lower price.
  15. Regarding this 49% non-Thai ownership limit of condo units: Tourist areas, such as Pattaya, tend to over-build condos in boom years. Plus, the condos tend to be relatively expensive for Thais - especially considering that most view "home" as whatever small town they're originally from (Isn't everyone really like that?) So what happens when the 49% ownership limit is hit, just who are the Thais who can afford the remaining 51%, especially on a high-end condo, such as North Shore? Is it true that Thais can buy units for far lower than foreigners for just this reason? If so, you could ea
  16. I think all the opinions expressed here are from dull, unimaginative individuals. The Penthouse hotel is unique. Very unique. Visually interesting to the point of being an incredible art piece. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I know it's old and tired. But take a tour of the place before passing judgment. Especially the indoor pool. You won't find anything like this hotel anywhere in all of Thailand.
  17. 8000 baht/day buys enough fun to turn your hair white before you're 30. Much of the expense depends on your drinking habits - and how liberal you are with ladydrinks. I agree carrying around a lot of cash is unwise. Traveler's Checks are fine. The only downside is you must present your passport each time to change money. Personally, I prefer ATM withdrawals. The fees are not a big deal - especially considering you're only going on a 10-day trip (btw, try for 3-4 weeks next time). Use Credit Cards as emergency backup. And to avoid security problems, you must contact both the Credit Card
  18. I don't know whether it's a myth or not, but my opinion is that Thai-style food is far better in Thailand than in California. Reason: The ingredients (fruits and vegetables) are *far* better (how could you not notice this?) While mentioning this to another person, I am told that fruits/vegetables in Hawaii are likewise better. So maybe there is something about tropical climates that makes better produce.
  19. It's been several months since your last post (above). How has it worked out for you?
  20. A long shot is to post your concern on thaivisa.com
  21. I'd like a larger "Go to first unread post" icon
  22. You are correct, so let me restate my concern. So long as generic drugs (ex: Apcalis instead of Cialis) are safe, effective, and chemically identical, I have no problem. It's only when fake Cialis, fake Apcalis, etc are not only ineffective, but also unsafe that I get concerned. I like Apcalis and have purchased it in Pattaya. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. I don't drink alcohol, so I have to wonder whether the problem lies with the drug, or with me.
  23. From a 60 Minutes piece that I saw, you would be well advised to not buy any drug over the Internet. The drug is likely to fraudulent (made with dodgy ingredients). And regardless of the website's indication of the business' country of origin (i.e, Canada), it is probably untrue (think: India, Mexico, etc). There is zero accountability. While buying from a Thai pharmacy is no guarantee of authenticity, at least you'll have a business to complain to (or simply avoid)
