  1. Brilliant analysis! I haven't been to The Avenue but I understand all your points. =========== One question about: "Large glory holes are cut out at todger level in the men’s washrooms on the 2nd and 3rd floors" Is this really true? If so, I'm astonished that the holes weren't fixed/replaced (I guess I don't appreciate the degree with which owners can allow their properties to fall apart.) Maybe the solution is to bring in Boy gogos for that area...
  2. "I do have a chronic breath problem" Go to a doctor and find out why your breath stinks. It's not normal and is indicative of a health problem. While Thais don't seem to be bothered by noise, they most definitely don't like stinky smells. I wouldn't kiss any girl whose breath stank; why do you expect anything different from any girl? Do you ever wonder why everyone bathes before sex?
  3. There's a discussion of the language course on http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/320354...ed-thai-system/
  4. No, AsianSplatter is spot on: LTGTR is a rigid-minded bigotted conservative (i.e., his opinions tend to be simplistic "black or white" positions; complex subtlety and shades of gray are simply beyond him). There are others on this board of a similar attitude (BigusDicus, for example). Then there are the "geniuses" over in the Politics and Religion section. Basically, these are people with far too much time on their hands.
  5. Look at the Penthouse Hotel The website is broken at the moment, so look at http://www.penthousehotel.com/rooms_suites..._discount_rates
  6. 92 pages - 2286 posts Quite impressive. I have not followed this topic at all, but could someone summarize just what could possibly be causing such interest? Or has it just been 99% personal insults (never under estimate the power of BigD's persona)?
  7. Reading between the lines, I'd guess it's the Armageddon Guesthouse on Soi LK Metro (http://www.armageddonbar.com/)
  8. OK. I see your point. I didn't know there was a performance trade-off.
  9. Does this mean paying for an Internet ISP is no longer needed? This sounds like a great way to save money. Note: I reside in the US.
  10. "Mixed reviews"... That's the equivalent of passing on a rumor. Have you read the book? If so, then post your opinion. If not, then you, by definition, can have no valid opinion.
  11. Easy: Lick a couple fingers and insert them into the socket. If you get shocked then you know the electrics are good (Assumption: You will only know this if you are conscious - and alive).
  12. Unfortunately, the website (http://page10hotel.com/) is using flash - extensively. Flash sucks up 100% of the CPU (translation: the webpage takes forever to load) Plus, in a case of form over function, the webpage is "arty". Meaning it works non-standard. I would have emailed them to tell the hotel about this, but the webpage is too screwed up to do it. Fiends don't let friends use flash.
  13. Who cares if he's Muslim? I swear to God, some of you guys are incredibly insular (Go look it up in the dictionary - you know, that big book that tells you what words mean). Obama could be a purple Martian for all I care. The only thing that matters is how well he is doing his job. I think he is doing the job very well. You think balancing all the various political/financial/societal crosscurrents is an easy task? Like it or not, nobody walks on water. ======================= A few years ago, the California Governor position was up for grabs by one and all. It was an embarrassing circus. Everyone, including a porn starlet, threw their hats into the ring. Anyway, who should win but none other than the Terminator (aka Arnold Schwarzenegger). While I like him as an actor, I was not at all thrilled of having him as Governor simply because he was in no way qualified. Well, guess what? He's turned out to be doing a pretty good job. Why do I say this, what with California in a serious financial bind? 1) There have been no scandals during his tenure (fairly unusual) 2) The financial problems were going to happen regardless of who was in office. The moral of this tangent is that the financial problems the US (and now, the world) is dealing with, have been brewing over the last 20 years, or so. There is plenty of blame to go around. To lay it all on Obama is childishly simplistic.
  14. I say stay at the Penthouse as it's quite unique. The nice thing about Thailand is that you can always go to another nearby hotel the next day if you want. Btw, I think the only thing prohibited is no more than three goats at a time...
  15. Have you never heard the Submarine expression, "Hot bunking?"?
  16. You mean to tell me that there are no have-nots in the industrialized world? Tell that to the homeless.
  17. Why not simply donate the clothes to a local (UK) charity? Why take them half-way around the world?
  18. The place you want is the Penthouse Hotel (http://www.penthousehotel.com/) on Soi Pattayaland 2 (Soi 13/4): ‘Subtle’ it is not. It’s decorated like a brothel. The rooms are done up like something out of The Kama Sutra. There are mirrors on the walls, on the ceiling, a bar to hold onto at the head of the bed which itself is 3 feet off the ground (just at waist level), you get the idea. And if you splurge for the Penthouse Party Patpong room, you get a disco dance stage – with lighting, ’massage’ sex swing (A signed “not responsible for injuries” document is required for use), along with a Jacuzzi, multi-head shower, mirrors, and the rest. But wait! You can get even more outrageous with the Babylon Suite Triplex (I’m afraid to know what more is included as my heart might not be able to take it). The mind boggles. You’re not going to find many hotels like this. There’s also a fantasy fun spa that must be seen to be believed. It’s available for private parties. The Penthouse Hotel is not meant for slackers. There is a certain level of debauchery you’re expected to uphold here. Guest friendly you ask? Anything short of sheep is considered fair game (Sorry, New Zealanders, but there are limits. Though if sheep are your thing, take a look at http://www.adultsheepfinder.com/) Rooms are made up twice a day. Oh, and each room has an extensive supply of whatever you might be in need of: toiletries, snacks, mini-bar, condoms, lube, dildos, and bondage supplies. There’s an orientation notebook that has, in addition to what’s going on in town and a restaurant menu, some heartfelt advice suggesting that using condoms might be a good idea. The notebook even attempts to cast light on the concept of ladyboys (It’s hard to figure out where ladyboys fit into the spectrum of things so to speak, but then again, how many people really understand Einstein’s General Theory of Relativity?) Oh, oh! Almost forgot. The television has a closed circuit security channel offering a view into the Kitten Club gogo on the ground floor. This gogo is somewaht unique in that, in addition to girls, ladyboys are also dancing alongside the girls. I kid you not. Gogo girl (ladyboy) room service anyone?
  19. Add a link to a map/location page
  20. So how do people secure their laptops? There aren't many hiding places in a room.
  21. Question to Kuranda Bagman (or Dennis): I travel with a laptop computer and it is important that I can safely store it. So... is the in-room safe large enough to accommodate a 13" x 10-1/2" laptop? In Kuranda's photo, it looks like the laptop didn't fit, but I couldn't tell what its size is.
  22. While I wouldn't say Indianbrit is above everyone, I'd certainly say he's above you. Not that you're much of a bar to clear seeing as how you're a narrow-minded bigot. Oh, and I just love your previous comment (post #182): "What is making it? Money, family, love, happiness? We all know of highly qualified and able persons who make feck all. It shows your third world country beginnings that you value education so highly." In this brief excerpt, you manage to: 1) Disparage money, and in the next breath long for it. 2) State that "we all know of highly qualified and able persons who make feck all", and then immediately disparage IndianBrit because he values education. Obsession, judging by your obsessive postings on this forum, maybe you should try getting a life outside it.
  23. That might explain why the problem seems to have gone away for me. New observation: The Search function offers a limited search capability - unlike the previous version.
